December 2013 Pin Code Watch

I was thinking the same thing. We aren't going to book until we see what kind of promotions are offered. Wouldn't want to book and have Disney NOT send me a pin or promotion because I'm already booked! Or have them not do a promotion at all because they are already booked solid.

I mentioned the same thing back in the beginning of this thread - seems like simple economics stuff to me - if the rooms are booking up at rack rate, why offer discounts to the public. We are not booking until we get past the August time frame when discounts normally come out.

Just booked our trip!!!! We are leaving on December 28 and staying until Jan 2. I am hoping for a pin code...but I am not holding my breath! We are staying at Coronado Springs. This is our first time at a moderate resort, usually stay at Wilderness Lodge.

I was able to get the Disney Visa discount applied to a room only reservation without having to put any charges on it. I had already paid the deposit using a different Visa card when I made the reservation a few months earlier. The CM gave me the discount and didn't ask me to pay more.

They offer room only discounts for having the Disney Visa card? When did this start? How much of a discount was offered? The only benefit I knew with making a reservation was getting 6 months deferred interest if a package is booked.

The exact same discount will open to the general public a few days after it is offered to the Disney Visa cardholders. They get get it a little earlier. But the general public will get it, too. You don't need to get the Disney Visa to get the offer.

I agree. I really want to make some ADRs though so I figure I will book a room only for a shorter period of time and then up it later, add tickets/DDP etc.

You would be better off reserving a room only for the longer period, and then drop dates later. It costs the same to book four days as it does to book ten days on a room only reservation, since you only have to pay one nights deposit. You wouldn't want to find out your resort is booked on the dates you wanted to add. :(

I understand what you are saying but since I am not going during peak time I would rather the bookings look less sparse than they are than more booked, in reference to potential discounts.

The waiting is killing me :( But, I told the kiddos today that if there is no discount, we will be staying at POR!! I love my BC, but the price will kill my DH :faint: But, I am willing to forgo the close proximity of Epcot and SAB in order to not break the budget :bitelip: I know there are many great things about POR, and I think I will love the tranquility, so I'm okay with either choice!! But, I just really want to be at BC :thumbsup2

So excited! Booked our airfare going down today - only booked one way because the fare coming back was a bit high yet - they just released December today. I watched this week last year and they slowly lowered the price as the time got closer, so here's hoping!

Which airline?

We just booked December 1st - 7th!!

Now lets hope for that pin code.

I am pretty sure pop is the 2nd week of December this year but I might be wrong.

We are going the 1st week of December too! I can't wait! It's our honeymoon, we are taking out little girl (I know, I know, we are taking our little one on our honeymoon. But hey, we love WDW and she is part of our celebration!), we are celebrating our daughter's birthday, we are meeting up with some friends I used to work with at WDW, etc., etc., etc.! I'm so looking forward to this trip!

By the way, POP is definitely the 2nd week of Dec. I made sure I checked a few months ago when we made the reservations. Actually, I think I may have been slightly neurotic about it. I called POP Warner to check when their Super Bowl/Cheer competition 2013 was going to be. I also called the WDW sports line just to be sure.

From what I have heard, they don't cause much of an issue in the park, it's the resorts they stay at that have an issue. I've never experienced the issues personally, but from what I have read on here, not all of the parents are "engaged", so the kids become a little out of control.

Hi there! I worked for WDW entertainment for several years (about 10 years ago right after my CP). I can tell you that you are right (at least from my personal experience a number of years ago. Things could have changed over the years). For the most part the resorts tend to get the brunt of the POP kids gone wild (LOL! Not really wild. But, unattended at times, early morning practices, late night screeching, etc.). Aside from that, whenever POP was in town, there was a day or two in MK that always seemed to be way busier than usual for that time of year.

The lack of discounts at that time are what makes me shy away from POP Warner week..... as well as the larger crowds than normal.

Here is hoping that we ALL receive a nice discount of some sort. :santa:

Waiting for a December code...taking my two friends for their first ever trip. Want to show them Disney.

12/7-12/10

Hoping to swing 12/10-12/15 with the hubby-he doesn't know that plan yet.

New to the site. We (6 adults and 4 kids) are booked for Dec 2-7 at CSR. Taking my parents for their 40th wedding anniversary! So EXCITED!

Hey there! We are planning our first Christmas trip 12/2-12/8. Planning to stay at POP unless I get a pin or the (hopeful) discount is better. Fingers crossed!

Hi there! We're going Dec 21 - 28!!! From what I understand, as long as your first day falls in the discount timeframe, the whole stay will be discounted?

We've booked AoA (little mermaid room)

That used to be true but that was changed a few years ago.

:cool1:Changing my dates. Because of Pop Warner week. So my new dates are Tuesday, December 3 until Tuesday, December 10th. Staying at Pop century.

For all the ones that are waiting for discount or pins --- Remember Aug the new prices come out and also 2014 dates are out. In the past price increase is any where from 2 to 5% higher in prices.

If you can you need to book so when the new prices come out you will LOCKED in on the 2013 prices.

You will still get pins and offers even if you have booked. AND always remember when you book ask the CM do you have a pin on your account.

So I am new on here and a little clueless. What is a pin code? Is it the same as a discount? I usually get e-mails for different discounts such as save 30%, if you book travel dates x to y. They haven't released any discounts yet for December so that is what we are waiting for correct? Sorry if this is stupid but it is my first trip to WDW that I have had to plan!

Also, anyone on here flying out of Cleveland, Youngstown, Akron or Pittsburgh? We would like a nonstop flight but it seems that Cleveland and Youngstown are the only ones that have nonstop. Cleveland is about $420/person roundtrip and Youngstown is cheaper but they are only showing flights through October and they only fly to Orlando a couple days a week. Anyone have any advice on when I should purchase flights for the best possible deal?

Thanks in advance!
