4 year old almost drowning accident info?

Anyone have details on why even happened, websites aren't saying much? Any witnesses???

Apparently his condition is a secret....but he's alive and under medical care.

Things happen in life and in todays world to many people are looking for instant answers. In time the full story will come out. You will have to search for it but it will be there. For now its is one of those things, as a parent, does not happen to me, and i will pray for the childs full recovery.

The patient information is not "secret." It is protected under what is called "HIPPA.: That is the Health Information Patient Privacy Act. Only the patient or his rep can release information. I would assume the family right now is focused on his care and not releasing information right now. I know I would.

I'm sure you are right. I read the term "secret " in, i believe, the Orlando sentinel article updated last night. Definitely it was a news post.

You beat me to it. Basically if your not directly involved in some shape or form from one one the public safety branches or hospital by law the hospital or Disney cannot divulge the info. The family can at any time if they want make or have someone make a statement for them but the family has to give permission.

Yes. That makes sense. I'm sure It's not even on the family's radar to update total strangers about their dear sons condition. And rightly so...but it doesn't stop me from checking just in case.

How incredibly heartbreaking. We lose babies regularly in the EB community - you would think at some point seeing loss would not do me in. And yet seeing pictures like this and reading the details of this little mans struggle brings me to tears. I hope that he pulls through happy and whole.

In case someone does not have facebook and cannot look it up he is still a very sick little guy. Keep him and the family in your prayers. They do say he will have a long recovery. Infection is a big risk still.

It appears from pictures that they are from somewhere a long way away from Fl so that would make this that much more difficult logistically.

They are a beautiful family just like most of you young Dissers. This is their youngest child so just keep praying for them. Something serious like this could happen to any of us at any time so just be grateful and hug your little ones.

Nice to see the FB link. Another board (not DIS) also has a link to a Caring Bridge site where the family is sharing some details of his recovery. The family has not shared details of the incident at this time as their focus (rightly so) is on the little boy's medical needs. Sending prayers and pixie dust for them all!
