How does CRT work for a child under 3?

I booked reservations this morning for breakfast at CRT. My daughter will be two weeks shy of 3 so when I prepaid, I only paid for two adults and one under 3 (free). She is a big breakfast eater so I'm wondering if I should have put her down as a child so she will be able to order something. Do under 3s only get to eat off Mom and Dads plate? I'm worried she will need more than that. I think I keep seeing that CRT breakfast is all you can eat. Is that right? Just wondering if anyone has had experience with an under 3 child there and how the food worked for them. Thanks

We had breakfast at CRT 3/16. There have been conflicting reports of it being all you can eat since it became a menu choice. When our waiter approached our table he did say we were all entitled to one menu choice (we were not on DDP), and that our DD2 would receive a plate of French toast sticks.

Our DD2 seemed to have enough to eat between the plate of French toast sticks and the tray of breakfast breads and biscuits, which we were offered refills of.

At to CRT being all you can eat, there have been conflicting reports. I did question that I thought you could order another menu item ( asked as if I was confused ) He did say that if we needed anything else we could ask. When we were finished he did ask me if we needed anything else, so I asked for what DS15 ordered since he didn't share.

2 years ago (2011), we had dinner at CRT, & our younger DS was 2.

We had an absolutely wonderful server, &, of all our regular, non-buffet table-service restaurants (we were on the DxDP), CRT was the place where our younger DS received the best meal & the most care & attention.

Even though he was "free," he received his own appetizer (cheese cubes & grapes), his own plate of buttered noodles for his main dish, & his own ice cream dessert that he was able to decorate w/ chocolate candies & a chocolate crown. (If I remember correctly, we had other choices for him when it came to his appetizer & main entrée, but cheese cubes, grapes, & buttered noodles were just what I thought he would eat best.)

Our server was great & treated our younger DS just like a little prince.

At every other table-service restaurant, unless it was a buffet or "family-style", if we wanted him to have his own meal, we had to pay separately for him - most of the time, since there were 4 of us getting regular meals & we had the DxDP which included appetizers, he just shared w/ all of us & was fine.

Tutto Italia did bring him his own appetizer (fruit cocktail) & his own dessert (ice cream).

My DS was 2 when we ate lunch at CRT so he was free. The waiter said he could have buttered noodles or chicken fingers, and he did get his own dessert. CRT is all you care to eat. You can ask for more of anything, but they don't always offer if you don't ask.

DD was not offered anything when we were there in October for dinner so I would not go in expecting anything and just be surprised if they do give her food for free.

I would recommend asking your waiter. When DS was 1 we were brought breakfast french toast to our surprise. IN Sept with DS 2 we weren't initially offered but I asked and was told they would have to check with the Chef which they did and we were provided a meal for him.
BOth times at Akershus we were offered meals for him as well without even asking.

I would definitely NOT age your child up and pay $35 unnecessarily. Even if you have a lousy waiter and your DD has to share one plate of food with you...just grab a snack afterwards! (Way cheaper than $35)

Some waiters will offer and some you will have to ask. I have never heard of a waiter refuse a child under 3 any food. I think that would spread bad reviews like wild fire.

So if they don't give free food away they risk getting bad reviews? Regular TS meals that aren't buffets don't give free meals to under 3 (even if you ask) why would CRT have to? If they do great, but to say if they refuse to give you free stuff it's bad review worthy? Come on.

I am saying it would be all over the DIS, not that Zagat would be called up. I have never seen anyone ask for food and was denied at CRT. If someone has, I have never seen it posted. Anyway, you can plate share at every TS and buffet with a child under 3. Since you can ask for more food at CRT, I don't see how you can say a child under 3 can not eat there. It makes no sense.

CRT is fixed price, which is not the same as an a la carte. They will feed the kids under 3 at fixed price places. At any rate, don't pay for the child. Even if they will be eating off the parents' plate, if you ask, you should be getting extra food for them.

CRT gives the under 3's a plate of food. For breakfast your little one will get a plate of french toast sticks. If that is not enough, she can eat from your plate.

We had dinner at CRT last month with my 2yo DS. When the waiter asked what he wanted to eat, I told him that he would share with us since he was only 2. But our waiter insisted that we order something for him, that it would be free. So he got his own app, entree, and dessert from the kids menu for free. And a sword of course. I don't think that is necessarily the norm though, it probably depends on your server.

We went when my niece was one and she got a meal without us having to ask. The waiter simply told us she would be given a meal we didn't choose anything. They brought her buttered noodles and she got a cupcake or icecream like her sister can't remember exactly. So definitely don't pay for your child that is a huge amount to spend.
