Le Cellier

OP here, wasn't intending to start yet another Le Cellier debate. :-) but i think I've found something that will be a great compromise for my family!

I was just there two weeks ago. Good food as always, but honestly WAY overpriced whether you are paying out of pocket or using dining plan.

Truthfully, I'm not sure if I really enjoyed my meal much more than I do on an average trip to outback streakhouse for almost 1/4 of the entree price, plus soup (something like $44 for the steak and $9 for a little bowl of soup).

I know they supposed use the "finest Canadian meat", but I dunno..

Regardless, LC's steaks and cheese soup are delicious. Everyone who has ever gone their and eaten has loved it.

Im half italian and think the lasagna is great. But to each their own.

As a pp indicated, LC is very much like outback. Disappointing steak quality. And i think the soup at biergarten is way better than LC.

LC didnt do a few things right...fine CDN meat my bazooka! And the poutine is a joke.

I am looking to decrease our ADRs by one and I can't believe it but I'm thinking of cutting Le Cellier! I adore the pretzel bread and cheese soup but the entrée price seems kinda crazy as I have had mixed experiences with their steak. I'd go California Grill instead but it's under rehab during my trip.... Thoughts? Suggestions?

We really enjoy Le Cellier but the overnight price increase is a joke! Coral Reef is a neat place to eat at Epcot. Check out their menu.

Does biegarten have a cheese soup too? I may just have to do a taste test! :-)

Well I dont think its a cheese soup but they have a cream of cauliflower soup (or was it cream of potato and leak?) That was simply outstanding!!!!! So much better than LC IMO.

It seems most of the negative reviews for LC are from people who haven't even tried the current menu. Many people are just looking at prices online, then posting negative reviews based on that. :confused3 We haven't been in a long time, but we'll go to try the new menu.

If you go to Trip Advisor and look at Orlando Restaurants, there are 1,633 total. Le Celier is ranked #122 which puts it in the top 8% of all Orlando Restaurants. Clearly the sample size dictates it is a fabulous restaurant despite what a few picky eaters might post.

I HAVE tried it recently and it was awful! If you can chew tough meat and digest charcoal, then go ahead and pay $44 to do so. I won't again.

lmao!!!

We ate there last week. It wasn't bad. The fillet was actually quite good and filling. My husband had the bone in rib eye and couldn't finish his meal (which rarely happens). I think for a theme park restaurant it is good, but there are better options.

We eat at LC every time we go to Disney. This time it was for my son's birthday dinner. From the moment we walked in, the SERVICE was horrible. Rude, slow, unattentive--we were disgusted. It took almost an hour and a half to get our entrees. Our reservation was at 7pm and we didn't walk out until 10pm. It was ridiculous. The food, of course was fabulous as usual. I have eaten steak at some of the BEST restaurants in the country and LC's filet ranks among the best, IMO. The cheese soup is delish and of course, the bread is fantastic.

However, because it is now a 2 credit DDP and the prices are outrageous, we will probably skip it next trip and do BOG twice!

I had the other service model.

Get soup, two minutes late food shows up and is dumped on the table.

10 minutes later waiter comes by to see if I am ready for desert. He then does this every few minutes (as I am eating the main dish) I also notice that he has the check ready. When I say no thanks to desert he slams that check down faster then you can imagine. As I sit there sipping my wine he peeks at the table constantly looking for me to pay. When he realizes he has to put a discount on (TIW) LOUD sigh occurs...

And NO, I was not his only table or his last table. Table next to me started after I did and got the same "Rush" treatment.

My gut feeling "we have to run these guests through so we can get more and make more money"

He got the TIW auto tip and not one penny more.

Longhorn steakhouse has better steaks an service IMHO
