raw sugar available?

I like, very much, coffee with half-n-half and raw sugar. I normally bring all with me when traveling. I assume I can request half-n-half on the Wonder but what about raw sugar? Should I bring my own? I tend to overpack so the less I bring the happier my family is. And yes, I am bringing "my" coffee and a french press. Hopefully I can find water that is hot enough for the press. Spoiled me.

If you mean the sugar that comes in the brown packets, yes, they have it onboard (well at least on the Wonder they did)

I use raw sugar was well. It was available in all the dining rooms on the Magic, the Cove Cafe as well as at the drink station. You can also get hot water at the drink station for tea (or coffee for you)

I asked two different CMs at Cabanas whether the sugar in the brown packets was raw sugar (they are not labeled), and both told me that it was not -- that it was brown sugar! I figured it out myself by opening one of the packets. Looked like raw sugar to me... It certainly wasn't brown sugar, anyway!

They used to have the "sugar in the raw" brand which I prefer. Last cruise, (Fantasy) they only had brown packets similar in size & shape to the regular white packets but they were generic & just stated "brown sugar" on the side. It seemed like a cross between brown & raw. What made me think it could be brown sugar is that it's really hard to get all of the sugar out of the packet. It kind of sticks to the inside of the packet. Raw sugar doesn't do that.

Interesting. Raw sugar is kind of brown in color so I guess technically it would be "brown sugar". I will let everyone know in a couple of weeks if the sugar is "raw" like one uses ones coffee or "brown" like one cooks with. I imagine it will be the same raw sugar product one uses in coffee.

I am so excited!!!! I can barely contain myself. My first cruise ever!

Raw sugar has not been refined to the degree where all the molasses has been spun out in the refining process.

Wow - I just signed on this morning to ask what kind of sweeteners they offered. (My morning coffee simply cannot get messed up with a pink packet ). I see they have yellow - which is my preferred - does anyone know if it is Splenda or a generic version of?

Raw sugar is not as refined as white and still has a bit of what would become molasses if it were separated. Brown sugar (like what you buy at the store) is refined white sugar with molasses added to it.

In my experience, yes. Brown sugar has that molasses sort of aftertaste. Raw sugar tastes pretty much like white sugar, but the crystals are a light brown color, not white.
