Hi all:wave2:,
I’ve gone back forth about doing a trip report for my past trip. I never finished my first trip report, I didn’t have any readers. I debated during my trip about whether or not I wanted to a trip report and because of that I didn’t take any food pictures, please forgive me :flower3:. But I think I’m going to give trip reports another try.
Let me start with introductions.
Hi, I’m Emma and I’ll be your reporter:thumbsup2. I’m currently a freshmen in college studying elementary and special education. My goal is to become an upper elementary school teacher (3rd-5th grade). I love to scrapbook so I have a lot of pictures, but not a lot with people in them for this trip:confused3. I’m super involved in a future teachers club on my campus, I actually just elected secretary :thumbsup2. I also love to read especially trip reports (Queenofallthings, Fantasyland Mom, Disneyfreak508, Dugette, brookelizabeth and Disneyfreak616, If you haven't reader their's I recommend them:surfweb:) hang out with friends and movies/television. That’s the basic stuff about me…oh yeah and I consider Disney my biggest fandom. If you wanted to I would talk about Disney with you all night and all day. LOL. Now on to the more important stuff my Disney favorites.
Character: Stitch
Ride: Big Thunder, People mover, Spaceship Earth and American Adventure (Did I mention I’m a history nerd and it’s my second major).
Princess: Tiana (Although I’ve never seen Princess and the Frog :confused3)
Movie: I don’t I have too many. Although I’m super excited to go see Monster University.
Restaurant: Tony’s Town Square

DF: My traveling companion with my Disney Father but we’ll call him DF. He currently is living down in Florida. He loves Disney, he’s probably the reason for my Disney obsession.

There will also be a few guest appearances from DF’s DGF, although I don’t have any picture of her.
Okay what else did I want to mention…
Who: Already mentioned
What: A Disney Trip…of course
When: My first college Spring Break which was the week of Easter and it was SUPER busy. I would not want to go down that close to a holiday again)
Where: Disney/ Old Key West
Why: Do I really need a reason?
So, please give my trip report a chance, I promise it will get better. I have stories and pictures to share. I will also be sharing my tweets from the trip. So, if you like to follow along Subscribe and let me know you’re here.
Bye.:wave2:

Welcome! Thanks for following along.

Hopefully I'll have another quick update later today. I just finished typing up all my notes.

We are going in 3 weeks and were talking about how lucky we are to live in FL and be able to easily go in off times like the end of April to escape the crowds!

The Days Leading Up to the Trip:
I just wanted to include a little bit of background information on the week leading up to the trip. The school week was a hectic week. I had something due or test every day. I was pretty stressed but the light at the end of my tunnel was going to my happy place :cool1: . On Tuesday of that week I found out officially that I had been elected secretary of my Future Teachers Club :thumbsup2 . On Friday I officially turned 19! Yep I was going to be in Disney right around my birthday for the first time!

Because of the hectic week a school I did all my packing the week before but I had some last minute packing to do over the weekend (toothbrush, shampoo, etc&). And I spent some time with my friends back home. The night before I went to bed at around 10 PM but first I set my alarm and upload this picture to Instagram.

Day One March 25 Getting to the Airport

I woke up at 5:40 AM :hyper: and got dressed quickly, brushed my teeth and waited for my Mom to get ready to drive me to the airport. We left the house at around 6 AM, and Im not a morning person but today I was because it was Disney Day!

IMG_20130325_071921.jpg

We got to the airport around 6:30-7 oclock. The check-in line was long but I got through pretty quickly. I checked my luggage which thankfully was less than 50 pounds. I went through security pretty quickly and found my gate. While I was waiting for plane I noticed a lot of people in Disney clothes so I tweeted:
Being able to tell who going disney by what they're wearing at the airport #disneyswag #disneyfansunite

Soon enough we were boarding. I was flying Southwest and was put into the C boarding group. I was a little worried about getting a good seat but I ended up with an aisle seat in probably the 13th row so I was a happy camper. One thing I like about flying Southwest is their sense of humor. While we were boarding the flight attendants polite told us to hurry up. Which caused me to tweet:

"Sorry folks we don't mean to rush you but please hurry up"#flightattendant

Our flight left about 8 AM. During the flight I read an issue of Seventeen Magazine and watched Valentines Day. The flight felt so long and I think it got delayed somewhere along way but not too much. While we were flying our pilot told us to look out the right side window and we would see a good view of EPCOT. I didnt see it but apparently we could. He also told the people on the left hand side that if they looked to their right they could see the backs of the people who were looking at Disney World. I thought that as pretty funny so as soon as we landed I tweeted:

"If you look out the right side of the plane you'll see Disney world. If youre on the left you can see the backs of the people on the right" #pilot

I looked at my phone and we had landed right about 11:11, so I made wish for great Disney trip. JK I didnt need to make a wish I knew it would be great its a Disney Trip. LOL.:thumbsup2

I got off the plane and headed towards baggage claim. Along the way I saw two signs that I was really excited about.

This one was outside the Faux-rail.

I grabbed my luggage and went out to meet DF.

Thats it for today. Ill leave you with these questions. Did I find DF easily? What did we do for lunch? And where did we go first?

Welcome! Thanks for joining! I love Jess's CP thread, her TRs are the reason I wanted to try and write one. I love the sense of humor that Southwest has. They were better on the ride to Florida then the fly home, probably because my returning flight was a late night one.

I'm in! :thumbsup2

Welcome Aimee! Thanks for joining! I love the free bags on Southwest! I'm one of those people who can't pack everything in a carry on so I need the the checked bag and hate paying to check. My only advice for Southwest is check-in for your flight as soon as you can to get a good boarding section if your like me and need the aisle seat or want to keep your group together.

:worried:following along as I am planning a trip next year during easter

Welcome! Thanks for following along. My main issue with going to Disney around Easter is that I'm not use to the crowds and there were some extreme crowds but I also got to see something Disney that I had never seen before which is really cool.

Hello All,
Im doing a second update in two days mainly because I finished all my homework thats due tomorrow and got some good headway on my project due next week. Plus I know that finals time is right around the corner and then summer and my time update will become limited.

Plus I found out the awesome news that in 2015 the sequel to Finding Nemo is coming out! And who wouldnt want to talk Disney after exciting Disney news was released.

Now on to the real reason you guys listen to me babble on, on the internet.

Leaving the Airport, Getting to Disney & First Disney Park

When I left off I was heading out in search for DF. We had perfect timing. He was pulling up to curbside pick-up right as I was walking out. We loaded up my suitcase and carry-ons.

On the way to Disney we had to stop at Publix to get some grocery including juice, creamer, fresh fruit, basically breakfast foods. We went to the Publix that is about 5-10 minutes off of Disney Property. It was a nice Publix, Im from New England and I grew up going to Stop and Shop, which seem a lot bigger then Publix but they are still nice. I hope you guys enjoyed my first review. LOL :rotfl2:

After stopping at the grocery store, we headed over to Old Key West and checked-in. For some reason even though DF is the DVC member our reservation was put under using my name as the primary guest. :confused3

Once they found our reservation, made sure that our dinning plan was correct (we had the 1 table service, 1 counter service, and 1 snack per day plan). I asked for a birthday pin because my birthday was the Friday before and I wasnt sure if Id ever be in Disney that close to my birthday again.

IMG_20130325_140417.jpg

I absolutely loved the pin and was so excited about it.

After checking in we went to Goods to Go, the quick service at Old Key West for lunch. I got the grilled cheese. It was so good! It was normal tasting but it was designed interestingly. It was three layers of bread with cheese in between each layer. I would recommend it if you are ever at Goods to Go and you like Grilled Cheese.

After lunch we head to our room. We were in 4525 I believe and our bus stop was the South Point, although we probably could have walked to Turtle Pond as well. We were in a 1 bedroom, it was nice, and I always love the space that you get in Old Key West rooms. I changed quickly, packed my park bag and we headed out the door because we were on our way to our first park.

At the bus stop we meet a family who it must have been there first time in Disney. We explained to them how fastpasses worked. They seemed like a very nice family and I hope that had a magical time at Disney.

Once we got on the bus I quickly tweeted:

EPCOT time! #disneynerd

The #disneynerd became my hash tag a lot through the trip because I thought it really describe my emotions and love for Disney.

So, as you can see we were headed to EPCOT. I was actually catching up on DisneyFreak508s College Program TR :surfweb: and she said that on this particular day that Magic Kingdom had reached its capacity, so Im glad I chose EPCOT. But still going through bag check was a mad house.

Once we got through Bag Check I got my first look at this years Flower and Garden show.

001-FlowerandGardenShow.jpg

And of course I got my first look at the AMAZING Spaceship Earth.

002-SpaceshipEarth.jpg

Thats DF in the bottom corner.

003-SpaceshipEarth.jpg

005-Instagramedspaceshipearth.jpg

And of course I had to Instagram it.

Well, thats it for tonight. Heres your question to end with&What will be our first ride? Any guesses?
