Hi all, I'm heading off to the Med in August with my DM, she's a Gold member, and I'm a Silver member. Will I get to go to this reception with her? And what exactly is the Club Reception?

If this is what I went to last month on the Magic, it is for Gold level and above. It is a reception with the ship's officers - a chance to meet them and talk with them. Mickey came around for pictures. They gave free drinks.

Our children were Silver level and not invited.

If you are staying in the same room as your DM, then yes you can go to the reception. There will be an invation delivered to the room, she will need this to get into the reception, and anyone in the same stateroom will be admitted.

Just got off the Dream and my inlays took my 2 kids to the gold reception. We were getting a massage but no one said a word to them or asked what stateroom they were staying in. I seriously doubt anyone is going to tell the kids they can't come in. My daughter even got a picture with the Captain.

Yes, we are both in the same stateroom. That's great news, because she really wants to go, but didn't fancy going on her own. Thanks for your help!

This happened to me and my BF on the last cruise. He was gold, I was silver. I was allowed to go in - but only if I took my silver lanyard off. ;)

Our last cruise, I was gold and my parents were silver. We were together and they were more than happy to allow all of us in the reception. I loved it! Besides the free alcohol, we spoke with the CD about the ship's horns and how to hear all of them at once. He said he would look into it, as no one had actually asked about it on the Fantasy (we sailed not long after the inaugural sailing).

The next day I got a note from him saying that before we debark for CC, the captain will play ALL THE HORNS! All because I asked! He then announced it during all shows the night before and called my room personally to remind me to be ready for it!

Anywho... They didn't have a problem allowing my parents (now gold) in. My fiancé has never been on a cruise, so he isn't even silver. I plan on taking him to the reception on our honeymoon.
