"Don't say anything"

Do you?

Be honest. ;)

Usually to my DH.

Sometimes it's just not a big enough deal for me think about once they tell me so I say nothing. If I feel like I just HAVE to tell, then I tell DH. He's a good secret keeper...

I suspect it's because he only listens to about 1/2 of what I say.:rotfl:

You're honest, SS. :rotfl:

I said it to someone the other night and realized after I said it how dumb it was to expect the person wouldn't say anything.

It just got me thinking....

Nope, I don't. If I truly have to mention something, I tell my mom. She does not live locally and wouldn't know anyone involved.

I don't tell DH because he has a big mouth. Like enormous big so I really can't tell him secrets most of the time. Plus he has an awful memory for things I tell him and would likely not remember it was supposed to be a secret. Less stressful for us both if I keep secrets to myself.

I have carried more "dont say a thing" from many people...

and I dont say a thing to anyone.

I dont tell stories that I wouldnt want repeated...that is what I think others should do too..

Generally I do not share. Sometimes I'll tell DH but he tends to have loose lips or forgets that he was not supposed to share.

Yep, I tell my husband. In fact if it's 'juicy' enough, I can't wait to tell him! I do stop there, though

I tell my husband. It satisfies my naughty urge to blab without creating any trouble for the person who confided in me. I'm also very up front with people that I won't keep any secret from my husband (unless it's a benign, temporary one like a gift or surprise party.) so if they tell me something, they know the rules.

Nope. I keep it to myself. Although, I am not stupid enough to believe that everyone does the same.

I am actually dealing with this right now! I had a coworker come into my office, shut the door and lay everything out about her relationship with her live-in boyfriend. Wow. I haven't told a soul. It is really difficult not to say anything to my DH but my DH is her ex husbands direct supervisor. And I must say this is terribly juicy about the boyfriend who also works for our same company but in a different department. I also know something else about my coworker because she told someone else something and told them "don't tell" but that person CAN NOT KEEP A SECRET. I reminded coworker do not tell that other person this secret or the whole company would know. Sometimes I wish people would just not tell me their secrets!

Geez people "your husband" is the absolute LAST person I'd want you to tell!

Do you?

Be honest. ;)

Only if I agree not too. You can tell me don't tell anyone, but unless I say OK or I agree or I won't. Then all bet's are off.

If you tell me something and it needs to be told, I'm not going to agree to be quiet. And if you say to me I'll tell you something if you won't tell anyone, I tend to say 'don't tell me because I'm not agreeing till I hear it' for the reason stated above.

If agree not to say then I don't say anything.

I usually tell my husband, but not always.

That phrase reminds me of another favorite phrase. The best way to get someone's attention and get them to look is to say, "Don't Look!"

I don't like gossip. I don't like to listen to it and I definitely don't repeat it. It does no good for anyone. I don't need "dirt" on other people to make me feel good about myself. If I don't want it repeated, I don't say it.

It depends on the secret. There are some secrets I think it's okay for dh to know and others where I know it would be a real infringement on my friend's privacy to tell.

If a friend tells me something about one of her kids I might share it with DH, but if she tells me something about her husband who is a also a friend of DH's, I wouldn't tell.

Usually my friends and I work under the understanding that spouses are told all, and ask for an exception "don't even tell your DH" if we don't want that info out.

Depends on who's asking me not to, and what it is. There are certain people, that I'd almost never tell something, if they asked me not to. There are others who seem to start everything they say with "don't tell," and while I won't go around looking to "tell," I'm really not that concerned about it.
