Free Dining anytime soon?!

I Would like to know if anyone booked a package with a one day ticket and could still qualify for dining?

Yes, we have a package with 1 day tickets and DDP. I am waiting to see what if anything is offered for our dates and will adjust accordingly. If FD is offered, we will change to it. If a room discount is offered, we will book and drop the DDP and pay OOP because it is less expensive for us. If nothing is offered, I'll check for a PIN or rebook through AAA and take that discount. It really is frustrating not knowing what the promotions will be, but I understand it's a business and why offer something early if you can wait and see if it is needed to fill rooms. Good luck to all.

To clarify, you can book a package with a one day ticket and purchase a dining plan, but in order to get the dining plan for free, you must purchase a two day ticket.

We're currently booked September 21-28, and plan on going with or without free dining. I'll be THRILLED if we are able to go with FD, but if not, we'll still go, and we'll still use the DDP. September can't get here fast enough!! :)

This is us, we book our trips, and if Free dining comes, great, we just saved $1000. If NOT, still going on vacation, still staying at the resort we want to, still doing the dining plan. I budget for the cost of the trip INCLUDING dining, and if I save the $1000 because of FD, it just goes back into the bank towards the cost of the next Disney Trip. So basically, either way I win! :rotfl:

I know it isn't the same as the free dining promotion, (which, of course, we all are waiting for with all fingers and toes crossed,) but the offer given for Feb. allowed us to get about a $500 discount for room, tix and DP, and we only had to buy 1 day park tix for each person. Of course, we added days when we got there, because not everyone in our party was needing the same amount of days.

So, worse case scenario and they offer a similar promotion, you can get it with a minimum 1 day park ticket.

Visa offer came out as the percentage off package and runs thru August so FD may come out for September just going to watch and wait. The bounce back was being offered for September last year hope its come out for you.

Yes, the dates on the Visa offer were through 8/14/13 and will be released to the public on April 2. I wouldn't expect any other offers to be announced until May at this point.

I really hope FD becomes available! it's pretty much the only way my dad will even consider going!! The spring offer of 30% off ends on March 31st. So maybe the next special offer will come out in early April??

We are goin in the fall and have booked the Deluxe Dining Plan. If there were to be a free dining plan deal when we are going how does that work? Do we just have to pay the difference between the Deluxe and the free Magic Your way plan?

Just a note to everyone that the UK deals don't always reflect the US ones. So be careful when using that as a guide for what we may get. Last year had a UK deal that was the same as what you quoted (none for value, QS for mod) for dates all through 2012 and the US free dining was drastically different.

Here's the UK deal for 2012:

Eligible 2012 dates include:
1 Jan-26 Feb
1 May-17 Jun
1 Aug-18 Nov 2012

Just book a WDW hotel and park tickets for at least 5 nights during the eligible dates, then the entire party will dine for free during your holiday. Guests staying at a Disney moderate resort will enjoy the free Quick Servicing Dining Plan. Reserving a deluxe hotel or villa will entitle your family to the free Disney Dining Plan (also known as the standard plan).

Yes, you would just be required to pay the difference. We've done this twice and if the Deluxe plan fits your dining style you can't beat it.

Isn't the deal that supposedly coming out tomorrow for the summer, the same thing they just ran???
