FE in a catergory V?

Our son has done the FE twice so far and we would like to do it again. We're planning on booking a catergory V , deck 12 on the Dream.

So my question is will people be able to deliver gifts or will this area be secluded? I know the kids would be bummed if they won't be able to participate.

I've read that the non-V participants can knock on the door to the lounge and ask the staff there to help deliver the FE gifts. Deck 12 on the Dream your room will be locked away behind gates, and we always found them to be locked, so they will need assistance.

And remember that the doors on that level are covered in a veneer, so if you have any magnets for your door, glue some extra strong magnets to them to try to get them to stay on the door. Otherwise the magnets just fall off.

We saw the gates on the Dream, and expected them on the Fantasy when we stayed in concierge and did not have to deal with them. Is this only something that the Dream has? Apologize for being slightly off topic, but I am curious.

Gates on Dream, not on Fantasy ... the gates are ugly and stupid, they learned a lesson I guess for the Fantasy

As a decoration I can see the art deco'ish style in the gates. But honestly I felt like I was locked away behind them, and didn't like it. It was the only thing about being in the V stateroom that I didn't like. I hope they get rid of them at some point.

Thanks for the replies and the tip on the magnets as we tend to put a couple on our door and get the DVC member one as well.

It appears it might take the fun out if it for the kids? Do they have the fish hook to at least hang your FE on?

Oh yes there's a fish. Starfish, to be specific.

The magnet tip is one I've merely read, by the way. I'm not even sure if it will hold up with extra, though I trust the people who said it will work. The DVC magnet you see in that pic, there, just slid down the door, so if you want that to stay up, bring extra stickon magnets with you. Let us know if they work!

No one in my group mentioned not being able to deliver things to us. And we got a ton of gifts all through the cruise.

I think most people know about the gates on the Dream now and that they can buzz the lounge CM's and have something delivered, but I would make sure people on the FE list know anyway.

When we cruised in Oct 2011 on the Dream a few FE gifts were not left for the concierge rooms. It was a bummer to go back onto the facebook page afterward and see some neat stuff that was never delivered to us or the other cabins up there.

You can stick your hand through and open the gate. We were on the Maiden voyage. We gave out 80 and only got a few in return I guess the gate threw everyone off. Since then no problem

You have a small hand and a long arm.... And a willingness to do things I wouldn't be OK doing if I didn't have a key to the gate!

We were in 12506 recently and everyday we received our FE gifts in my hanging FE. With our FE group I believe they dropped them off at Guest Services clearly marked with our stateroom number.
