4/8/13 - Wonder 5 night Western - who's in?

Hi everyone. We just booked this cruise. Last minute. This is by far the shortest lead time ever. Got to cram all that anticipation into less than two weeks. Looking forward to meeting everyone at the cruise meet on embarkation day.
:cool1:

Also, it will be me and my wife, Liz (Liz Arjay), and our mothers Maureen and Ann. Birthday (52) cruise for me on embarkation day! Children in HS and college have to be in school...

Hi Shipmates;

Will be joining you for this trip. This will be my 7th, I think. Glad the FE is closed. FE has been a highlight on previous cruises but our last one had 68 cabins to exchange. It was a full-time job! Of course we had 14 days (EBPC) to do it. This is a last minute trip so will just throw some clothes together and jump on board! Kids will be staying at home so that makes packing simple.

Looking for an inexpensive off-site parking facility at Port of Miami if anyone can recommend one.

See you soon!
Liz

If the itinerary is similar, the Disney Movie Trivia should just be finishing up when its time for our meet on Tuesday.

I think that we will start packing tonight, or at least get out our packing list and see what we can pulling out and "staging" for packing.

Getting the trusty lists out too! I was super excited about the short countdown that I got the dressy stuff, swim stuff, and FE stuff packed this weekend. Easy to pack shorts when it's still cold out though! Quite a motivator!

Looking forward to meeting everyone in the sun! :beach:

Can't wait. We're in serious need of a vacation :lmao:! Even better, work just announced a jeans for the next two weeks fund raiser for a charity. So jeans until vacation! I know, not really a big deal but I'm looking for reasons to celebrate!

It's almost cruise time! :cool1:

Can't wait to meet everyone!

Welcome to all the last minute cruisers! :)

Unless I skipped over it....we're still missing a cabin number for Dhingracian right?

We're flying into MIA Sunday morning and will be staying at the Comfort Suites Miami North. I guess we'll just hang out at the hotel/pool Sunday and get outselves even more pumped up for the next day! Then we'll hop on the hotel shuttle and head to the MICKEY BOAT!!

I'm not sure who's more excited, Michelle and I or Gracie!

See yall REALLY soon!! :woohoo:

Welcome John and Liz! I love your idea of the last minute Disney cruise! I've added y'all to the roll call, which I'll post next week.

We are parking at Premier Parking of Miami (which is different from Premier Parking Ventures). It is a gated garage that provides free shuttle transportation for up to four people per vehicle. You can either book online through a third party (Global Airport Parking - which accepts credit card) or call them directly to make a reservation and pay in cash upon arrival. They will send you an email with your confirmation, street address, and directions to the garage. We called and received our conf. email the next day. Based on reviews, this is one of the better off-site parking options. For the cruise, it will be $40 including taxes.

Phone - 800-435-3195

Looking forward to meeting you at one or both of our cruise meets!

Seriously agree with you about the cold ... snow flurries in Atlanta this morning! And that's nothing compared to the snow some other states north of us got over the past couple of days. Very much looking forward to fun in the sun with fruity beverages! :boat:

What a great birthday gift huh?

As a fellow April 8th-er I'll be celebrating right along with you....haven't made it to the 5-2 mark yet but 3-8 isn't too far behind! :) And I guess I'll have to let Michelle celebrate along with us too...as her big day...the BIG 4-1 will have been just 2 days prior.

See yall soon!!

We're flying in Sunday evening and staying at La Quinta for the port shuttle. Unfortunately Delta has pushed back our flight so now we don't land until 7pm :( Its going to be a long day of travel with a 1 and 4 year old but then ready to relax! Who else is doing Nachi Coccum in Cozumel? Anyone else with young kids?

Pretty sure our family is pretty equal in the excitement category! We're heading out at 6:30am Sunday and will stay in Ft Lauderdale for the night. We'll probably start packing this weekend!!!!

See yall REALLY soon!! :woohoo:

Dhingraclan room numbers are 6026 and 6024. Last time I heard, their FE will be on one or the other door (or both, depending on how they split the family into the rooms).

Every morning my son asks me if it is time to go to the Mickey boat. My daughter was writing notes during church service on Sunday about the Mickey boat. I think we are all counting down the days too. :)

This will Gracie's (3yo) first flight. We're praying it will go much smoother than we are fearing! :crazy2:

We'll be at Nachi Coccum and I'm sure Gracie would love to have some sand playmates. :)

Awesome, even if we miss the meet ups on board would love to keep an eye out at Nach Coccum for Andrea to have someone to play with for a bit!

Best birthday present ever! pixiedust: What could be better than a Sailaway Birthday Party on the Disney Wonder?!

The dining staff will celebrate birthdays with a special dessert and a song, even if it isn't the exact day. You could designate one evening to celebrate Michelle's birthday.

My husband and I are so excited.. 8 days to go to Western Caribbean. It's been a very long Winter. I have 12 yrs old daughter and 9 yrs old son who are also very excited and can't wait to try the ice cream parlour. I'm still trying to decide on cayman excursion.

I forgot to mention that hubby is celebrating his birthday on April 8 too. Nice birthday present!

We're halfway through our packing. Just when we think we have packed everything...there's still more to pack. We just finalized our hotel reservations at Residence Inn in Miramar. Closet hotel we could find that we could redeem our Marriott points.

Definitely looking forward to a nice vacation after a very busy month at work!

Welcome uby24! Have you been on other Disney cruises, or is this your first? We've been on the Magic a few times and the Dream once, but this will also be our first trip on the Wonder. From what I've been told, we'll feel right at home since we love the Magic so much. :) Its so fun to celebrate birthdays on board too - your husband will have a good time.

You've probably already read about them, but we are having two cruise meets, both happen to be at 2:30 pm. The first is on embarkation day at the Mickey pool and the second is on the next day (Tuesday) in the Promenade lounge. We hope to meet as many fellow Disboarders as we can.

If your attitude about it is "fun", Gracie will likely feel the same way. We try to make the whole experience fun, even security - our kids love to take their shoes off even though they don't have to now. Our kids' favorite parts are "snack time" and movie time (we have come to  our IPad) on the airplane. Good luck.
