What were the VGT rates last September on the Dream

I booked a cat 7a GTY with 100.00 OBC for Sept 8. The total cost was 2177 for 2 adults and 2 children. I think that's a pretty good rate. I'm wondering what the VGT rates were last year.

Since you booked on board, you also got a 10% discount. You are gambling with a VGT rate - if it doesn't come out what then? The only time I would look at switching to a *GT rate is if my original date was further out, and I would cancel before PIF. Else, you would need to consider the penalty for cancelling inside your PIF.

No I didn't book on board. I booked in January with the special DCL was running on Sept cruises. They were offering 100 OBC and they had discounted the cat 7A rooms a few hundred dollars. The prices of the other cats stayed the same. I was really hoping for a VGT rate in May, but I don't think it's going to happen the cruises are close to full according to "cruisefish". I just hope I'm not overpaying for a Sept cruise. It is peak hurricane season. :confused3

I booked with the same deal, earlier this month. My friends seemed to think it was a great price, but they don't usually cruise in September lol, so it would seem inexpensive to them. :scratchin

According to cruisefish.net the VGT rate for the Sept 9 2012 sailing of the Dream was $660. Go to the stats page then click on past and you can search for different cruise prices. Looks like that rate came out June 28th. Hard to know what that means for this year though. We are watching for a good rate in Nov of this year.

Thanks that is great info. I didn't know I could find that info on cruisefish. I think the rate I am paying is 599.00. I know last year VGT rates were offered throughout the Fall. It is hard to say what will happen this year.

We're on the Sept 8 Dream sailing, we're paying $2,134.85 for 2 adults 1 child in a 5E extended aft balcony, just by way of comparison (no VGT history to offer).

I also booked a cat 7A on the Dream for Sept 8th, 2013 for $599 per person. I get the $100 OBC. I had a placeholder (dummy) cruise to transfer but it is for a group cruise with a TA so I left that alone. I booked this special rate on the DCL website using code DREAM to get the promotion. I have a 7A cabin assignment on deck 9, not a GTY.
