have they ever released any discounts for thanksgiving?

Was originally planning September or October but we normally never do anything much for Thanksgiving, other than DH, myself and our boys and thought was a wonderful way to celebrate and not be at home all weekend. But...... am hoping a discount like normal in the fall?

Any insight?

That's what I figured.... ( Insert sad face) LOL

Could you go a different week late fall is the best time to go to wdw:cool1:We're going November 10-16 but I will be pulling my son out of school for four days. Hoping for some sort of discount:littleangel:

Yeah, we probably could.. It just would be nice bc with the holiday you already get 2 days off without having to request them! :)

I understand. At my job I get only the holiday off and our boss does not like to give anyone the day before or after off. If you decide which month your gonna go,make sure you join that thread. There seems to be a good amount of people going in November. Good luck:cool1:

We did a split stay last year to take advantage of discounts over Thanksgiving. We were able to get free dining starting on Black Friday.

Thanks OP for the info about joining the thread...

PP- They did free dining last year? Wow,I didnt realize that... HMMM.. Decisions, Decisions!

Is it possible to get a discount over Thanksgiving week if you simply check in on the last date the discount is available? So, let's say they black out discount codes starting the Saturday before Thanksgiving. Could you check in on Friday and then keep your discount for the entire following week? Or are you just out of luck for those dates regardless?

First post here, by the way! Hi! :wave2:

Yes. The promotions are based on your check-in date and go for the duration of your trip. They won't end on the Saturday before Thanksgiving, but they may end the Thursday or Friday before (if offered).

This question has probably been answered before, but I haven't found it. If I book a room at a Disney World resort now for late in the fall, but no special deals are currently offered for that time, is there a way to get the reduced room rate if and when it is offered later in the year?

Yes, if your dates are included and there are rooms at your chosen resort you can change to the promotion and keep the same reservation number and deposit.

Just be aware that not all resorts or room categories are offered on any given week, so there is an off chance you might have to change resorts or room category to take advantage of a promotion. The "bucket" of discounted rooms is for the dates/resorts/room categories that are lagging in bookings that Disney wants to fill. That's why the promotionas always say "rooms are limited" and "available most nights". Normal seasonal rate rooms might be open for bookings on any given date for example, but no promotional rooms.

Thanks tinka-belle! That's very helpful information.
