Autograph book...purchase now or at Disney?

We are taking our first trip to Disney in May. I was wondering if you order your autograph books from the disney store prior to leaving. This trip is a surprise to our kids and I kind of thought it would be neat for them to pick one out once we got there. I just wasn't sure if they are easy to find. Will we be able to get one in the gift shop of our hotel (pop)?

It's funny, because they are everywhere. There are different types though. So you might want to do your homework before you get there. We get ones that hold pictures, but they don't have as many pages for signatures. Also, buy pens ahead of time. The pens are around $5... Unless you get an autograph book that comes with one.

I bought the plain one (with Mickey on the cover, no room for pictures) at Everything POP last year.

They are quite readily available!

Disneystore.com has a sale on parks merchandise right now. If you want to get them beforehand now is a good time.

Our first trip was a MAW trip & I bought one at GKTW, we just got back from our second trip & for this one I bought foam Crowns & Stars for them to sign, I got alot of comments on how nice they were & that is was different. I thought I would frame them with pictures & hang it in my DD's bedroom.

BUT, my dd seen one that another child had a autograph book, it was with Tinkerbell on the front & that is all she has talked about since, she even told me that if she gets to go back again she wants that autograph book.

I would just let them pick one out when you get there at your resort gift shop.
I would make sure you have them before going to the parks because at some of the parks they have some M&G's right next to the gates.

I had bought the big sharpie at walmarts-2 of them- this is easier for the costume characters to use, they can hold on to them better. I took a little cloth bag to keep them in, so when we were at a M&G, I just pulled out that little bag.

Yes, thankfully they are everywhere...says the mom who had to buy two on one trip. Ordered from Disneystore prior to the trip and left that one at home. Bought another on our first evening at MK then realized on our first full day at MK when dd said "let's go find Tiana" that we'd left it in the resort room. :headache:

I'm trying to figure this out too! I only see a few on Disneys website. I'm hoping I find one before then.

Depending on how soon your trip is, there's a wide variety on ebay. That is where I get a lot of stuff from when I want to make the "we're going to Disney World" basket for my children.

lanyards
autograph books
princess accessories
action figures
little stuffed animals

We leave May 17th. A friend of mine bought the kids a Minnie an Mickey stuffed animal and backpacks from eBay. I'm gonna use the stuffed animals when I tell them that we're going ( which will be at the airport).

I bought them when they were having a sale and free shipping on the disney store website. So, they ended up being only $5.96. :)
