Just Back! We're Hooked, a few questions

We just got back from our first cruise and found that we are now hooked. We have already started planning our next cruise. We had a great time, the only thing that I would have liked was warmer water at Castaway Cay. We thought that waiting a couple months and going in May of next year (2014) may be better for water temperature. March was great. We did have wonderful weather but I did not get in the water it was so cold. For all you seasoned cruisers what do you think? We are planning on a 4 day Bahamas cruise. What is water and weather temperature like? What month is your favorite for weather and water temps. Thanks for all your help too with our first cruise. I learned many things from this site. One of the best was being able to order room service and get coffee at 9am delivered to us while we were getting ready for the day.

We prefer the first 2 weeks of June. The cost is still somewhat reasonable because a lot of schools are still in session and the water seems to be a little warmer.

Same here.
We have cruised in March...agree with OP....beautiful weather, but the water is way too cold.

We think June is perfect (as you can see by my sig....majority of our cruises are at that time). The weather is warm and balmy, but not overly-hot. And, the water is just right for our taste.

ETA--We've also cruised in May...again, beautiful weather, but the water is still a bit cool for our liking.

We have cruised and gone to CC 3 times in January, 1 time the water was frigid, 1 time it was bearable and the 3rd time it was enjoyable. We cruised in March last year, and wore our shortie wetsuits to snorkel. When we were there in June, the water was lovely, and in August, it was like bathwater. This year, we are trying late September.
So, I guess my point is, the water temperature varies, but likely that it will be warmer in the summer months.

We have gone to Castaway Cay three times-once in early June and twice in mid October. June was beautiful!! October was a little chilly when you got in the water but once you got used to it, it was just fine.

We have gone several times in September and once in October. September was perfect weather and the water was warm an wonderful. October was cool and rainy. We are booked for Sept again. I don't want to be cold on a cruise or in the ocean but I am a big chicken that way.
