Beach or Yacht Club??

Hi! I am new to this board and have a question about the Beach and Yacht Club?? I am going to be in Disney the 3rd week in August with my husband and my parents (no children). We are booked to stay in the Beach Club Resort and I'm just worried that we made the right choice for our resort? Is the Yacht Club better for adults? Or is there a better choice elsewhere in the world for a group with no children?? I appreciate any feedback anyone could give me. I have gone to Disney 7 times but this is my first time staying in the world and I want to make it worthwhile )))) THANKS!!

I love the BC, and have stayed there twice as an "adult only" party. It's so pretty and "fresh," and it has the shortest walk to Epcot (my favorite part of staying there!).

They are really sister resorts so very similar. YC has full balconies and is closer to boat, BC closer to Epcot walkway and has some full and some standing balconies. I would show pics to DH and see what decor he prefers. They are both a great place to stay. Pool area is great for adults too. The small pool at YC has a huge hot tub which was usually empty too

The Yacht Club may likely be the on-site hotel with the lowest percentage of guest without children, but there are still some kids, and you share a main pool with Beach Club, which specifically draws kids for the pool. However, as others have mentioned, the separate 'QUIET' pool and hot tub at yacht club is really pretty quiet. YC's lower percentage of kids is due to a variety of factors, including Disney marketing yc as "more serene" and bc as "more fun". YC is Also the one of the two sister resorts with the convention center, so convention goers typically prefer that one for the access. Also, there tends to be fewer "little" kids generally at any of the Epcot area reosrts b/c they tend to focus on magic kingdom area resorts if going deluxe - with obvious exceptions (our family loves epcot area so we continued to go there even once our family trips included toddlers, etc). Due to the convention/business focus, coronado springs, dolphin and swan also tend to "feel" like fewer kids.

Thanks everyone so far! I'm just stumped because I keep seeing that Yacht Club is quieter...

We've only stayed at the BC, but have visited the YC many times over the years and IMO, the YC does seem a little quieter. All resorts are kid friendly and have kids running around, but I think the YC seems a little quieter than the BC because the BC has Cape May Cafe right inside the lobby with a lot of people/kids waiting to be seated, which makes for a little more hectic atmosphere (although this is just my opinion). But overall, I think you would enjoy either one.

Any other suggestions on good hotels to stay at?? In the deluxe category??

Out of the deluxes, we have stayed at the Poly, GF, WL, AKL, and BC and our favorite is the Poly. We have loved every resort we've stayed at, but the Poly is our #1 choice as we love the tropical atmosphere, walking around at night under the lit tiki torches is romantic, the pool is great as it backs up to the beach with a view of the castle in the distance, and the beach is great for watching the fireworks while relaxing in a hammock. With that said, I think any of the deluxe resorts would be great.

I have stayed at all but the Poly (I go to Hawaii often so don't care for the theming) and my favorite for adults only is BWI. I also enjoy AKL just for the resort and GF is my favorite of the monorail resorts.

I would not choose BC for adults only. The lack of full balconies on half the rooms is a deal breaker for me. I've had 2 stays in rooms there with the standing balconies and I really miss having that space. Also, the lobby is noisy here. I love the BC vibe and the fact that it's lighter and more airy than the dark woods of the YC but having that Cape May Cafe entrance in the lobby makes it very chaotic in the mornings for the character meal and it's crowded in the evening with the seafood buffet meal.

I stayed with my adult daughter at BC and we loved it. Our only room request was a full balcony and we got it.
I agree, people say BC is not as quiet, because of the very popular Cape May off the lobby, but how much time are you spending in the lobby it wasn't a problem for us.
Another perk of BC is that the Marketplace is there, it's the resort store and also has the counter service, that is shared with YC.

We are going to try YC in August. Both are great resorts, and we are looking forward to returning in August.

What I really like about bc/YC is that everything is under 1 roof. So if its raining out, you don't have to gear up just to grab a bite to eat, or refill your mug.

We've also stayed at Poly, WL & AKL. And enjoyed them all. Poly has the largest rooms, and the grounds are beautiful. Also good transportation with monorail or boat to MK, and walking distance to TTC for Epcot.

WL is all under 1 roof too, and fun boat to MK. Rooms are smaller. Another beautiful. Resort.

AKL has same size rooms as WL, and animals.

If you are sharing a room with your parents, I'd stick with either BC/YC, or go to Poly with larger room. With Poly you will run the chance of no balcony in some longhouses 2 nd floor rooms don't have them. Again, we put it in our request and had one.

I think WL & AKL rooms which are the smallest of the deluxe may be too tight for 4 adults. Bc/YC room size would be in the middle.

My favorite daytime park is probably AK and thus I really have enjoyed my stays at AKL. However, it is bus only. The lobby is beautiful, lots of places inside and out to pause and enjoy the resort. Nice gift shop and ok CS.
I am so/so about the Poly. It is great for monorailing to MK and you can walk over to the TTC and monorail to Epcot as well. The longhouses are outside walks to the lobby and the lobby itself is very busy. I did not get a balcony and my 'garden' view room included a view of the parking lot. There was no hot tub and the decor was dated although the room was large. The counter service was very good.
I loved the GF it feels very serene to me, love sitting in the lobby and listening to the piano player during the day and the band at night. It's convenient to monorail to the MK, many of the rooms are in separate buildings requiring a walk outside to get to food, the lobby, etc..
Because Epcot is my favorite nighttime and food park I really like the YC and it's walking/boating access to Epcot and DHS. I haven't tried the BC because I don't want to risk getting a Julliet balcony but it is inconvenient to have to hike from the YC over to the BC for the limited CS available. Ambiance of the YC is quieter than BC but neither is a resort where you would spend much time in the lobby like you might @ GF or AKL.
Just my 2 cents re: the deluxe resorts I've experienced.

With no kids I would either choose BC/YC (pretty much the same thing as far as I could ever tell lol) or the Boardwalk. The Polynesian is one of my favorite resorts, but it is crawling with kids usually. We make an annual adults only trip for the Food and Wine festival and always stay at the Beach Club

We've stayed at both (with & without our DDs) and quite honestly both are great options, in my opinion. We like BC seems a bit more casual & a shorter walk to EPCOT. On the other hand it's a shorter walk to the Yachtsman steak house. Don't lose any sleep about choosing BC, just enjoy your vacation.

This. I think any of the epcot area resorts are great for adults. that area is very lively at night. bc has a little more of a casual vibe than yc and the cape may cafe typically draws a younger crowd in the lobby (waiting to be seated) but as far as room and facility enjoyment, there is no difference imo.

We've stayed at both and like both. YC was much quieter, though. I think that Cape May draws in lots of people, making the lobby crowded and noisy at times. Also, it seems like more kids just stay over at the BC. They share amenities, restaurants, pools, etc. so I'm really happy at either one. YC rooms do all have a full balcony (but it's just a request at the BC) so that may make a difference to you.

As for other deluxes, we have tried and liked the GF, Poly, and AKL too.

my vote would be for YC (avoiding the lobby & main pool - very noisy), or BWI. both are elegant and quieter than the BC, which has a LOT of little ones. the BW itself has evening entertainment (including street performers, jellyrolls, etc), which is obviously more convenient to the BWI. we particularly love the BWI pool - it is our favorite on property (serene and gorgeous), surrounded by beautifully landscaped garden areas. all 3 resorts are a ferry ride or walk to EPCOT/DHS.
of the MK resorts, the GF is our favorite if one does't have toddler ages (quieter, and again, elegant). we enjoy the poly, but it is definately noisier than the GF.
