Need wheelchair for 1 afternoon

We will be needing a wheelchair for my mother while staying at ASMo. We only need it for 1 afternoon just for her to get around the resort. We will be moving the next day to BWV where she will get a scooter. Any suggestions on where to get a wheelchair? Will ASMo have any for us to borrow? Thanks :goodvibes

1. Why not get the ECV delivered to ASMo? Then take it with you when moving to BWV. The rental companies have no problem with dropping off at one location and picking up at another.

2. While the Resorts have loaners at no cost they cannot be reserved and are really intended for people who suddenly need them. Also they tend to be ones that had been used at the Parks and have now been replaced by better ones.

I agree with Cheshire Figment.

ASMo may or may not have a wheelchair to lend - no advance reservations, no guarantee and, if they do have one, no guarantee on size or condition.

She could get the scooter delivered to ASMo. If you don't have a vehicle, the easiest way to transport it from one resort to another would be using the buses.

She would not need to be there for check out at ASMo or check in at BWV, so she could go directly to the park you plan to go to that day. If she doesn't plan to go to a park, she could still take the first park bus that comes. When the bus arrives at the park, just get back into the line to go to BWV.

Thanks for the replies. I thought it would just be easier to have the scooter delivered to BWV since that is where we will be spending seven nights. We would not be able to transport the scooter in our vehicle along with our luggage there would be no room. I can't imagine putting my 70 year old mobility impaired mom on a Disney bus alone and expecting her to go to the park and wait for us since its only her second visit. Maybe I will rent a wheelchair for the afternoon.

I agree - it would work out if you had more people in your party.

You might be able to rent a wheelchair from the same company that you ate getting the scooter from. They might give you a deal on it.

Resort A can transfer your luggage to Resort B, leaving room f
In the car for the ECV. Just put whatever you'll need for that day/evening in a small bag you can throw in the trunk; your luggage may not get where you're going, some time after 4.
Respectfully, how does your mother manage everyday life other than the mobility impairment? Seventy isn't generally old. If she can navigate around town and function well, she likely could manage getting to/on a bus alone, and meet you at a park.
How many people in your party? Maybe one person could travel with her on the bus.
What about, um, having the lead person on the reservation drive to the new property with the luggage to check in, while everyone else takes the bus with your mother.

Good points:thumbsup2
I should have thought some of them too (should not post while talking).
