Can I check in DH if he is in another stateroom? Rental Car return

We are renting a car. I have been reading here a lot. Many suggest having DH drop us (and luggage) off at the terminal and DH returning the car by himself. From what I have read, it appears that I can check him in, even if he is not with us, as long as I have his passport and cruise documents. I just was thinking, can I still do it if he is in another stateroom? We have two staterooms - DH & DD#2 and me & DD#1. Does that matter??

Worth a try. If they won't let you, he'll have to stand in line again and you are no worse off than if you didn't try!

No, I don't think you will be able to. They take a picture of each person so he would need to be there.

I was able to check in my DH when he was listed in a different stateroom with our kids. I was listed on a stateroom with my bro and sis-in-law. I got an extra key to my hubby and kids room and stayed with them, although they were connecting rooms and we had the door open between more often than not.

As for the picture, we had cruised before and they used that one for him. Another time, he just had to wait in line to get the picture made. No problem.

All he would need to get into the terminal is his driver's license. I would think that you should be able to do this if your reservations are linked. He will have to go through the line once he is in the terminal to get his picture taken.

Make sure he has the credit card that you rented the car with and that you have the credit card that you will be using for the cruise.

Thanks for this. Good information. I may need to use a different card for the rental car. I might have used the same one for both.

I just checked the rental info and I didn't put down a card, so I will make sure that it is one that he has.
