First time visiting the parks in an ECV

Let me start by saying I'm bummed that I have to spend my entire 8 day vacation in an ECV. I broke my foot last January 31, and have had three surgeries and possibly a fourth by the time I leave on May 10. I still have a considerable amount of pain in my foot. DH and I are staying off property at a time share that my in-laws are letting us use for free. We are renting a car, and hoping that the ECV will fit in it. I am overweight but that is not the reason I am using the ECV. If I don't have the surgery then I will not have to wear my best friend (my walking boot), so I may just wear my surgical shoe.

My question is how much walking will I have to do, i.e. is there anyplace like the shops that I can't take the ECV in and will have to walk?

I'm a seasoned veteran but I cannot remember, can I drive the ECV on to all of the transportation, I know there are spots on buses and people roll their eyes when they have to wait for an ECV but I am in a cast right now, and don't get it off until April 4, which only gives me 4 weeks to get back to complete normal before we leave.

I am very self conscious and I hope people don't start whispering about me being an ECV, because I'm sure they will just think it's because I'm overweight. I know I shouldn't let what other people say to me bother me but I do.

First off don't be bummed you will still have a great time. Second please don't let other people ruin your trip you are their to have fun and relax with your Dh and family that all that matters. People have nothin better to do then say stupid comment or roll their eyes it just show how stupid they are. The best thing you can do is have fun don't let it get to you don't give then the satisfaction that one of their comment got to you. It Dow not matter how old you or the reason your in the ecv as long as you are having fun enjoying your trip that all that matters. You have the right to board the bus and monorail safely so if it takes a little longer hen that what it takes. If other guest have to wait their turn so you can enjoy the bus just like then then that what it takes. I hope you have a great time and don't let those rude guest get to you have every right to enjoy your vacation and not have to feel uncomfortable.

Te bus has tie down points and the monorail you just wait for the cm to put the ramp and drive up and that it.

I completely agree with Disney David. I have a back injury. So severe that I can not walk long distances and sometimes not even short distances. I am in constant pain all of the time. And for a few moments I felt the way you did, until my husband bought me a scooter (ECV). I had to face it that is was the only way that I was going to be able to get around the parks and anywhere else we traveled with a lot of walking. And let me tell you, the first time I got in it and took it for a spin, I felt so independent! No more would you please help me with this, or would you please grab that. What a difference.

Enjoy your vacation! Forget what other people are looking at or saying. Who knows, they may not be having as much fun as you are.
