At embarkation you will board the ship into the main lobby on deck 3. Some of the port calls may use a different entrance.

For arrival and departure at PC, it will be Deck 3. For CC, Cozumel and GC, it will be deck 1 - not sure on the other ports but unless they have a terminal setup like PC, it would also be deck 1.

I think we got off Carnival Destiny in San Juan via an elevated gangway on a port call many moons ago, but I may be confusing that with another cruise I was on that sailed from San Juan on Adventure of the Seas. Every other port of call used the deck 1 gangway. Both the Dream and Fantasy use deck 1 when calling on a port.

Every cruise I've been on has utilized an elevated gangway at the ship's home port.
