How long do you think the waiting lists will be for each resort?

Just waitlisted 50 points at SSR and saved $1000 by getting in before the prices go up tomorrow. We love working with our guide, he's excellent.

i am on the wait list for BCV BWV and VWL i went on Feb 21st for all three i am trying to buy 30 to 40 points sept use year. i went on for 50 for each. i feel like they are holding back for some reason and there is NO reason why there should any wait list. they should just just be buying up all the resales. you have a list of people trying to GIVE you MONEY and therefor spend MORE MONEY at your place of business. its really annoying and if i could find a resale for 50 or so points i would grab it but there are hardly any around.

As a resale buyer, I wonder the same thing.

I inquired about the BCV waitlist yesterday for 100 pt add on August UY-haven't heard back yet.

I don't know why Disney wouldn't buy up a number of resale contracts via ROFR. Anyone want to guess?

I am looking up the resale contracts out of curiosity wondering if they are going to ROFR any of them. Is that how they would get the points back for the people on the wait lists?

That's what my guide told me.

I figured that's how they would get them. But do they wait till they are in sale pending or do they make an offer themselves?

I was on the wait list for VGC March points since July 2012. My DVC guide finally called me on 3/4/13 to make sure I wanted the points before they charged my card for the deposit. I guess he wanted to be sure since I was on that wait list for nine months.

I am on the wait list for BCV and I think they are giving everyone not enough info or what they want to hear.I have been waiting over a week getting very excited and can't wait but I know it will take time. I just hope it doesn't go past the 6 month window

I went on the wait list for a march UY 50 pt at bcv. My guide said there were two other march UY and about 12 any use yr. He mentioned that the longest someone has been waiting for bcv is since January. His estimated timeframe was the summer but also mentioned that disney has purchased large blocks via rofr in the past. He also said he would call when the points are available. I have the option at that time not to go ahead with the purchase. He took a cc number but nothing is billed until then. I am waiting to hear on my bwv resale so if it goes through I can make the decision to keep or cancel.

I spoke to my guide this afternoon, as I felt I was in limbo as to how long my wait would be, and my "place" in line. My guide said that I was 14th in line for OKW, not considering UY. My guide said that it should be soon...whatever that means.

I have a theory about why Disney doesn't ROFR everything. Basically, all of you who are waitlisted already own DVC points. Which means, you're coming to WDW and spending money anyway. A number of resale buyers (like me) are new buyers, which means we're fresh faces and it's a good way to lasso our money, and maybe we add on direct in the future. Sharon at Fidelity basically told me the same thing. Yes, they will try to fill WL orders with a certain number of ROFR's, but they probably won't ROFR everything for the aforementioned reasons. Hoping my little BWV contract is safe. :)

As to ROFR, even a company as large as Disney does not have unlimited cash flow to buy up resales. As to coming to WDW and spending money, DVC does not get any of that money. All their money is made by direct sales.

Well, I, for now one, am a new buyer and I chose to go direct. I cannot understand why Disney does not ROFR for those UY which have the longest wait lists.

That's what my guide told me too. I know others guides have said they just automatically charge you. :confused3 I guess I'll find out if my wait list ever comes through.

that is why i said something does not sound right. say a BCV is going for 75 points on resale and they are charging me 110 or so on wait list prices. any one would be making 35 dollar a point in pure profit every single second of the day. they should be handing out 25 to 50 point addons like crack to us.....

If Disney buys back a contract, can they 'repackage' it so that the number of points are different.

For example, I wait list for 150 points and someone else waitlists for 50 points, can Disney buy back a 200 point contract and break it into two? I've always wondered that.

Disney is not going to buy back a property at 75.00PP and sell for 110.00PP way too low of a profit margin considering they can charge 165.00PP for BLT and make a whole lot more money! I am sure they have profit margins they stick by and it looks like most ROFR'd properties were pretty loaded and under 60.00PP for the most part. By Disney raising direct pricing they now will be able to buy some of those 60 -70 contracts back and make their margins!
