Morning!! That night flew by!!! Must have been because last night was such a busy one! At least while this one is busy, this one is DH's responsibility w/ DS12!

Let's see on the agenda today:

boys up and movin'
2 loads of towels
prep swiss steak into the crockpot for all day cook (helps w/ quick meals tonight)
DS16 to school/mtg/work
drop DS12 off to school/track practice
home for nap (1.5 hours) ~~~ LOL, didn't happen!
to the scrap room (list of things to do today)
lunch
back to scrap room
pick up DS12 & go to parent mtg (text if someone needs to pick him up)
home to eat fast
DS16 home from work
DH & DS12 off to parent/safety mtg for archery
homework (last because of all the events tonight)
bedtime routine
NCIS & NCIS: LA
bedtime

I may have to start watching NCIS, isn't John Corbett going to be on it now? Mmmmmm...

Well, we have another snow day. We have had 2 hurricane days and 4 snow days this year. Crazy crazy stuff. At least they just called it right off and didn't start with any 2-hour delay nonsense. I'd say there's another 4 inches or so out there already and it's supposed to go allllllllllll day. At least it happened on one of my last few not working days.

So, today will be finishing up the laundry. I spent hours cleaning out my closet(s) on Sunday and ended up with a lot of laundry. Only one load didn't get done, but I think I'll do sheets and towels today too.

I'm also going to sit down and figure out my sketches for the AK swap so I can order paper today (Free shipping over $29.99).

I think I'll find something to put in the crock pot. I know I have the makings for corn chowder. Morgan has a softball clinic tonight...I wonder if they'll cancel that? They rescheduled one part of the testing for next week, but she does have other standardized tests on Wednesday and Thursday this week, so she'll need to be to bed on time and have good meals. All that to say, she doesn't like the corn chowder!

Rainy day here is South Fl. We need it though so I’m not complaining.

So, I’m walking down stairs this morning and I see the cats water dish (it was upright) and their food mat all tangled at the foot of the stairs! As I walk into the dining room, one food dish is turned over with kibble scattered everywhere, the other is still upright and full! It’s like Bea or Boo decided to pull that old magician’s trick of removing the tablecloth from the table to see what remained intact, haha! They have never done this before so it’s either 1) someone got their paw/nail stuck in the food mat and went to town trying to remove it or 2) there is a gecko in the house and it was being chased…. I think it was #1 since nothing else was disturbed….

Well, no walk for me this morning, no washing the downstairs sliding glass door or Round up the patio either! It is really coming down out there!

Today:
run to Hallmark
run to Whole Foods
send TA our flight infor for summer ABD/DCL Med Trip
once over house
mail BFF's birthday card
yoga or Wii tennis
leftover corn beef and veggies for supper

Wha we call swiss steak is a steak that I brown on both sides..then put in the crockpot and top w/ diced onions, mushrooms and tomato juice and little it cook on low all day long.. It makes the steak just fall apart and melt in your mouth..

Today I am putting diced potatoes in with it to cook all day but most of the time, I make mash potatoes with it and then use the tomato juice "sauce" as a gravy over my potatoes..

Good morning ladies! Another snow delay here, too. That's our 11th delay for the year and 4 snow days. Last year we only had one delay and no days off. It's been a LONG winter!

Swiss steak sounds so good, Nan. We make ours just a little differently. I very lightly coat the steak in flour, salt and pepper to taste and then sear it in a really hot pan. The steak then gets transferred to the crock pot or baking dish and covered in onion slices (and mushrooms if you like). The pan is de-glazed with beef brother and then that is poured into the crock pot over the steaks. Cook, and YUMMY! It makes its own gravy for mashed potatoes. Think I will have to put swiss steak on my grocery shopping list!

I have a long day today. Came into work late and will have to work late to make up for it.

Fill out and get ready to mail financial aid paper work for DS
Check on Ben Franklin costume - where is it? (I cheated and bought one)
Make a quick run through downstairs of house to put items away - DS14's girlfriend and her mom are coming over Thursday to pick him up for dinner. He's meeting her family
Check on tux prices
Check with DS18 to see if he got a swatch of her prom gown fabric - need to make appointment to order tux and flowers
Go through every single piece of the MK page swap - I can't wait to see them all!

That does sound yummy. Morgan hates onions and mushrooms, but if she could pick them off, she may eat it. Do you use cube steak?

Becky, my cats have been fighting every night! Actually, the younger one has been trying to play and the older one wants nothing to do with him and hisses and shrieks. Makes for a rough night in my house!

Well, another day of snow & some weird sort of icy/sleety not quite rain but not quite snow falling here. Of course, we have school. No delays or snow days for this school year or last year, however, last year we didn't really have snowy weather, either. I am starting to think DS was not making it up that this new superintendent doesn't believe in snow delays/cancellations! Maybe the kid is not crazy......

I don't know what I am going to do today, there is SO much to choose from I don't know where to start! Ugh! I feel like I am fighting a cold, I don't have any specific symptoms, just feel blech & sinus feel swollen & dry.

All this talk about standardized testing makes me wonder when ours is. The school hasn't said anything yet, so I guess I have to go research on my own.

Swiss steak sounds good. I am going to have to try that!

Never used pot roast, but have used both of the others. That's what I do. If I slice the onions in half and then just separate the layers it leaves the onions big enough for my picky guys to get rid of them. The mushrooms I leave whole (when I use them).

Got to work this morning and the lot was not cleared. No way my car was getting through the snow bank then down the hill. Called my boss and he told me to Dunkin Donuts and wait for him to call, my reply was to ask if I was being paid for my time. So I was paid for over an hour to browse around Michaels. Didn't find anything, but it was better than working.
