Stupid me just started WW not realizing that we have a holiday coming up. Any good low point dessert recipes?

I made a fantastic dessert the other day by chance. Costco has frozen pineapple chunks. I was trying to imitate a Dole Whip so I put 5 frozen chunks in the mini FP with half tablespoon of light cream (not gonna kill your diet, really) and three packs of splenda. OMG I whipped it up and it came to about a close as possible to a Dole Whip but the points had to be very low. I split it between my husband and myself (so it was only a 1/4 Tbs of light cream). It made two small scoops. It was a great sorbet and very much like the whip however it had little pieces of pineapple in it.

How about an old WW standby....pineapple angel food cake!

Combine one box of angel food cake mix with one can of crushed pineapple in juice in a LARGE bowl (it will expand). Bake according to package directions.

It is really yummy! Don't have the Pointsplus breakdown in front of me right now, but is pretty low.

I have made this as a traditional ring cake and as cupcakes.

Best of luck with WW!..........P

Thanks a million. Do you attend WW. I am starting next week and was wondering if they have a points slider like they used to with the old points. If you go are you as successful as the old system from about 5 years ago?

No slider anymore. You can buy a calculator or do the monthly pass & get meetings & online. If you have a smartphone or iphone you can download apps like the barcode scanner(i love that) Or do online only or meetings only if you pick meetings only you will want to purchase the calculator.

Our health ins is picking up the tab for 3 months so I am not paying. I kind of refuse to pay for WW b/c I had gone so many times in the past that I feel as if I helped to purchase a wing on the owners mansion.

I joined Feb 18 last year, so all the treats were out in the stores when I was still figuring out how to really do the program. Since I have a personal thing against artificial sweeteners, etc, and I refuse to do box cakes (homemade is like 2 extra steps for yellow cake!), etc etc, I have had to learn to know the PP value of what I'm thinking about eating BEFORE I eat it.

So before I did DS's basket (we don't celebrate the holiday but we do the fun stuff), before I opened the bags of candy, I worked out the PP values of each and every candy. And I wrote it in Sharpie, in BIG letters, on the bag. And the semi-emptied bags went into the freezer.

So if I had 5 points for a dessert, I knew exactly how many reese's PB mini-eggs I could have. I knew how many hershey's mini-eggs I could have. etc.

I calculated it before anything went near my mouth. It made the holiday-time feel really decadent to me, because I COULD have the chocolate candies, etc, but I stayed on track at the same time. And it was GREAT practice for Halloween.

Even though you guys are talking about recipes and I'm talking about bags of chocolate, it's the same basic concept. Work out the PP for what you want or are thinking about, enter it as a recipe even....and then figure out the portion you can have for x points. That way when it comes time to eat that item, you KNOW. Even if you are called to have two servings, you KNOW. 3 servings, you still know. And that's a good thing!
