If you stay at the All Star Movies Resort, All Star Sport Resort, or All Star Music Resort can you use the monorail? I'm very confused about this. It looks to me like it doesn't go all the way to those hotels but if you were somewhere that the monorail operated could you use it or do you have to be staying at specific hotels?

HI becky. Those 3 do not have transportation from the parks to those hotels via the monorail. You would be able to take a bus to the Magic kingdom from those hotels though. The monorail only stops at a select few hotels at the WDW resorts.

Does that make sense?

*edit* you can always use those monorails you dont have to be a guest of that hotel. So if your at the contemporary ,and eating at Chef mickeys when you are done you can take it to the parks.(hope this helps as i reread your question)

You are correct; the resorts "serviced" by the monorail are CR, the Poly and GF. You CAN however use it! If you drive to the TTC you either take the monorail to the MK or ride the Riverboat. If you're coming from any of the All Star resorts you can take the bus from your resort and they will deliver you to whichever park you desire. Just make sure you get ON the right bus for whichever park you want to attend. Follow the guides at the bus stop and check the destination on a bus as it arrives. :thumbsup2 :tink:

Ok thanks for your help. I think I understand.

Becky,

It is confusing and I know for someone new it can be tough! Glad we can help you because I know we all had help from friends and other members when we were confused!!

The monorail system is only connected to certain resorts (the Polynesian, Grand Floridian and Contemporary). It travels between these three resorts and the Magic Kingdom, Epcot and Transportation Center. If you stay at a resort other than one of these three, the monorail will not run to your resort because it is not built/connected to your resort. However, if you happen to go to any of these resorts to visit, for eat, shop, etc. then you can most certainly get on the monorail and ride around, ride to Magic Kingdom, Epcot.

From your resort (Pop, All Star, any value or moderate) you will need to take a bus or watercraft to the parks.

Hope that helps!! It will all come together soon enough - much to learn, but I always tell myself...planning and learning is half the fun! :dance3::yay:

As the PP said the use of the monorails is not limit...anyone can ride the monorails even people not visiting the parks for that matter. If you can get to the monorail, you can ride it. You don't have to be staying at any particular resort to ride the monorails either although staying at the Poly, GF and CR makes riding the monorail a slam dunk as those resorts have monorail stations in their resorts. The Wilderness Lodge is not served by the monorail even though the monorail passes very close to the lodge.

Remember that the monorails only serve two of the four parks: Magic Kingdom and Epcot. Disney Hollywood studios and Animal Kingdom are served by busses and/or boats but not monorails.
