what is the difference? Is one closer to Epcot? what abut the pools? we have an 11 and 9 year old. We are going the end of August!

Beach club is closer to Epcot, and they share the stormalong bay swimming complex, which is a major selling point of both resorts. I like both, but prefer Beach Club, I like the decor better, seems less stuffy to me and a little more kid friendly, however, all the rooms at yacht club have a full balcony, and a large number of rooms at beach club have tiny, one person "Juliet" balconies. (I've stayed there three times and always scored a full size one)

They are pretty much the same resort with different themes. The BC has a beach theme while the YC has a nautical theme. The BC is a little closer to Epcot, with both resorts sharing the same pool. One difference between the two is that the YC rooms have full balconies, while only some of the rooms at the BC have them (with other rooms having a standing Juliet balcony). Both resorts have a TS restaurant (YC - Yachtsman Steakhouse and Captains Grill; BC - Cape May Cafe). For CS, the BC has the Marketplace that carries limited options for quick grab-n-go items.

This is what my 11yr old son thinks.I think the Beach Club is better. I've stayed at both and they each share the same pool (Stormalong Bay)which is without a doubt, the best pool in disney.the beach club is a bit closer to EPCOT, but only by a about 2 or 3 minutes. also if you don't want to walk too far, you could walk through the building so you don't get too hot. or, you can ride the boat called the friendship boat. the reason i think the beach club is better because it is less stuffy than the yacht club, also it is home to the Marketplace, were you can get breakfast, lunch and dinner(all on the counter service DDP).also the beach club rooms are better.:confused3
When we stayed at the Beach Club we were in a room really close to EPCOT and it took 3 minutes to walk from our room to International Gateway. The closest rooms are 1501-1530.

We also debated staying at YC or BC this last Aug 2012. A small/no balcony or patio is a deal breaker for us, so we chose the YC as the majority of the rooms have full balconies or patios.

We ended up with a water view patio room at the YC. It had an awesome view, I would recommend a water view if at all possible. We got to watch the higher Illuminations fireworks from our patio :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

YC is not that much farther from EPCOT, than BC, maybe a couple of minutes. YC is closer to DS walking path and boat launch. So it all evened out for us.

SAB is great for the August heat and humidity- brutal! We took a break/nap/swim everyday during the worst of the heat and crowds. We had a hard time finding a chair, but the pool wasn't too crowded. Lots to do for kids and adults at SAB.
