Germany AbD

We have decided on Germany! For those who have been - is there enough to do in Heidelberg to spend a day before the start of the AbD? We arrived the day of our London/Paris tour last year but realized it would have been nice to have arrived a day earlier, since there was SO much to do.

I'm not up for moving locations and having to deal with luggage and transfers. (AbD has SPOILED us!!!), so if we come in early we would stay at the tour's hotel.

There's definitely plenty to do in Heidleberg the day before. DH & I came in the Saturday before the trip just to get a bit adjusted. the next day we walked aroudn the city took some pics and took a Riverboat cruise it was great. There's also a couple museums if I remember right. And of course there is always shopping.

The hotel is great!!!!! and in a good location.

You are going to really enjoy the trip, we loved it and can't wait to go back

We booked today!!! So excited!! We are taking the July 14 tour, arriving a day early to get acclimated.

Airfare was a little steep, but only six seats left, if the United Airlines website is to be believed. Lol. I am a little concerned about the return flight from Frankfurt, since it is United, serviced Lufthansa, so the seats must be assigned at the airport. I pray the let the 3 of us sit together - Dd19 will sit anywhere on her own (I marvel how I raised such an independent young woman - Dad gets all the credit lol) but I'm the one that has to sit with someone to keep me calm for that long of a flight! Lol

Now I have to research weather to know what to pack, and what to do in Heidelberg on our first day! Don't want to waste it sleeping!!
