WBPC May 6th 2013 Wonder

Good Morning, Happy Cruisers!

I was reminded to get back to cruise planning - Happy Goofy had completed her FE gifts and they will be coming to me to distribute. Apparently she thought we had dwelled on her passing long enough, and sent me a "message" to get on with Living, already.

Another busy day planned. I freecycled all the exercise equipment in the basement and it was all taken. Going out the door TOday! Glad to see the end of it. Wish I had freecycled my stove too - apparently when HD takes them away, they junk them instead of donating them.

What's everyone doing for excursions? I haven't even thought about it!

Happy Day, all!

I received a message tonight about one of our members - unfortunately
HappyGoofy (Charlotte) passed away in Florida on March 5th. No further details were available.

I am so sorry to hear this news. We were looking forward to meeting her at Cove Cafe. Please let her family know we are thinking of them.

Good morning all. Sorry I haven't been that active these past few weeks. I've been picking up extra days at work to help put away money for the cruise and then this past week DS got sick. He had a fever of 102.5 Tues and Wednesday. At least the Dr. said it wasn't RSV or the flu. His fever is all gone now but he's still so stuffy. I feel so bad for him because since he's only 5 months old we can't give him any medicine really. Plus the poor kid is teething like crazy. Lot's of sleepless nights this past week for me.

It's finally going to be warm here this weekend! Hopefully we are done with snow. I've had enough and just want all the kids in all the schools to get over all this crud.

I'll be sending out an FE update this morning so check your email. Some things have been rearranged.

Do you know if John will still be cruising? I'm sure everyone on the FE would like to do something nice for him if he is. Glad to hear you're already having a productive weekend... could you send some of it my way? I feel like I get nothing done!

My excursions are as follows. Enjoying the Disney Wonder and not having a care in the world.

Sent from my iPhone 5 using DISBoards

We are pretty layed back. Our main theme is enjoying the ship, laying around basically relaxing. As a super busy working mum Heather likes to spent as much time as possible playing with Jackson. We will be going on a tour in Cartagena, Heather and Jackson will go to Paradise on PV and we will all go take a taxi to Billigans next to "downtown" in Cabo for lunch and sand time. I will stay on board for PV and enjoy quiet time. We are really looking forward to sea days of just getting up around 9, laying around the pool, napping in the afternoon and then a delightful dinner. We usually have to wait up for Jackson to finally be ready to leave "his club". Really boring people taking advantage to a quiet time after very busy schedules.

Lauren, i hope your little man feels better soon. My DS got sick too. Seems one/two days virus with temp and throwing up and running to the bathroom....he is all good now.

Emailed out the updated FE list this morning. Do we have anyone else that wants to join? The cutoff is April 1st. :goodvibes

Sorry to hear your DS was sick too. I always feel so bad for the kids when they're sick... almost as bad as feel for me having to take care of them when they're extra cranky. ;)

I am very sorry to hear about Happy Goofy. If her partner is cruising, I'd like to add a card & condolences with our FE gifts. Thanks, Linda Babe, for the important information.

We are sad to hear about Charlotte. They were our Secret Mickey on the May Hawaiian cruise. We had great times with her and John.

Wish I had known Charlotte, she sounds like a wonderful lady.

I bring bills. I start 'saving' them a few weeks before the cruise, its just something i enjoy.

Silly question, but why do you bring cash for room service when you can charge it? Is it a convenience thing for you or do they prefer getting cash?

We used to bring a bunch of singles, but we stopped once we learned we chould just charge it to the room. I think my son was 9 when he learned how to tip and sign for room service! :)

We're back from our week on the Fantasy and a few days in Orlando. Trying to catch up with mail, laundry and, of course, DIS.

The Fantasy is a beautiful ship but I think our hearts belong to the DCL classic ships. As we get older, we don't need all the bells and whistles--like the aqua duck--that the large ships have. Both the Dream and the Fantasy felt really crowded to us. The adult areas on the Fantasy are a vast improvement over the Dream's so it was a really relaxing week with some unexpected twists (long story). It was chilly when we got back to AKV Kidani so we did lots of fun non-park stuff.

FYI, we did a VGT for the first time on the Fantasy cruise and loved the cabin and location we got. It was a 5A, deck 10 forward. Gives me hope that we'll get something great for our VGT on the WBPC.

On a side note, Neil Patrick Harris was on our cruise with his partner, twins and parents. We ran into him a number of times; he was in one of the big suites two floors above us so he was in our muster group; and we would see him on the stairs and the hallways. I never got up the nerve to talk to him but I heard him kidding his parents and his partner talking to the kids to about whining (wish the other 2000 parents had done the same...).

Now, on to the WBPC in less than two months...

How far in advance of your cruise did you find out what your cabin was?

For our excursions, I am going Parasailing at Castaway Cay, been putting it off for too long, so finally decided to do it, DW has no interest in Parasailing. We are doing the "Best of Cartagena Tour" in Cartagena. We are doing the "Extreme Canopy Adventure" in Puerto Vallarta. No plans for Cabo except for shopping. Hopefully someone who has been there before can suggest some good places to get some decent deals.

On a side note, for those that have a Kroger Supermarket, they are offering quadruple Fuel Points on Gift Cards purchased in March, so if you are looking to get some more Disney Cards, this might be the time to do it.

Just a reminder in case you missed it or are new to the thread, don't forget to join us for CHAMPAGNE GIRLS :cool1:

We'll meet the second day at sea (Day 4, May 9) at 3:00 pm in the Promenade Lounge. It's a great way to meet lots of fun women early in the cruise. To keep it simple, we'll just individually order from the bar (doesn't have to be champagne or even an alcoholic drink). Keep the CG's tradition going; be sure to wear pink and, if you want, a pink feather boa and a tiara. (Check out Party City, Michael's, Total Crafts, etc. for an inexpensive boa and tiara.) I have some really fun memories and great pictures from past CG meets with forever friends I met on DCL!

Post in the thread or PM me if you are interested in joining us. Get your PINK on!

Here's the updated list of CGs:

Is anyone else doing the Rosario Islands excursion in Cartagena?

We've signed up for it, and are curious if anyone else has done it, and what they thought.
