Oz the Great and Powerful - 2D, 3D or both?

My DD really wants to see Oz, but will not watch movies in 3D. Does anyone know whether it will be shown in 2D on board?

No one can be sure until the movie actually comes out. But, going by previous 3D PremEARs, they normally show it in 3D (if it is a 3D movie) on the "show night" in the Walt Disney Theater and then have both 3D and 2D showings in the Buena Vista the rest of the cruise. You will just have to check the Navigator.. it will tell you if it is in 3D or 2D.

Saw it in 2D and you can really tell were they put in the 3D parts - movie was fuzzy in parts. SO~ see it in 3D. But prepared its not a very good movie - sorry.

Differently not for the little ones - had to take the 6 year out too. The monkeys are very scary. First half hour the kids were bored and that created some problems. Movies needs some serious editing. Just my "rotten tomatoes" :worried:

Just off the Magic today. They showed it in 3D in the big theater and in 2D in the Buena Vista theater. I imagine they will continue to offer it in both, as they do with Nemo

I remember hiding my head under the pillow watching the monkeys when I was a kid. Those are going to be scary no matter what they do to them. ;)

I took my dd 8 to see this today and I thought it was great and so did she. It was defiantly scary in parts. We both jumped, but she doesn't mind a little scare. My ds6 would have never made it through b/c of the Baboons and witches. I didn't find any of the film fuzzy or weird in 2D. It is long at about 2 1/2 hours but it flew by.

The only thing I noticed that was fuzzy was the "horses of a different color" in the background in one scene as the characters walked by. But they were supposed to be pretty fast away in the background, so I chalked the blurriness up to be signifying the distance.

I liked, but didn't love the movie. I thought most everyone other than James Franco was terribly miscast.

Good to know they're showing it in 2D. It sounds like the movie may be right at the edge of DD's threshold for scariness, and the 3D would make it that much worse!

Thanks to all for your responses.

I saw it last night in 3D in our local theatre. I thought they did a pretty good job with it. I enjoyed it and it did go by fast...I didn't think it dragged at all. From all the talk I expected it to be scarier. The theatre was packed and everyone clapped at the end so I guess everyone enjoyed it.

when I called and asked about movies two weeks ago for the Wonder leaving Monday, Mar 1, I was told it was only going to be in 2D. I'm hoping she was wrong.
