DAY 3: The morning after
we had such a busy day prior as we were celebrating emme's third birthday. but before i begin my update, here are 3 videos from her birthday dinner @ enchanted garden.
i was running out of space (well, i literally had no space) so the videos are a couple of seconds each. but, our head server, assistant server, manager & a what seemed to be a football team of people brought emme cupcakes & sang her happy birthday. it was very sweet!
please click the image & the video opens on a separate web page:
when emme awoke, her hair still looked almost perfect & in tact from her BBB makeover from the night before. i was shocked! i wanted to head to the BBB to see if they could give emme a touch up on the pixie dust.
after our light breakfast from the concierge lounge & eaten on our balcony, we were off for a touch up at the BBB & then see the characters before we attended the orientation at the kids club.
claudia, who was our fairy godmother in training from our appointment the day before was working this morning & she happily touched up emme's hair & sprinkled some pixie dust! it was a great start to a great day.
we were off to the lobby atrium for some pictures but not before stopping at an interactive picture. there were many of these pictures on the ship.
we made it to the lobby for some character sightings.
up first, STITCH!
and lastly, PLUTO (i was beginning to grow weary of the characters at this point...ok, ok, i admit, i was a bit grumpy & tired).
KIDS CLUB!
the kids club is an absolute blessing for parents while on board the cruise. not only does the club provide hours upon hours of supervised, interactive & fun place for your kids, it gave me guilt free time for myself.
in order for your child to attend the kids club, your child has to be 3 & fully potty trained. every child attending the kids club must wear a mickey band. the band can be on your wrist or ankle. each time you drop your child off, the child scans their band which essentially checks them in. the mickey band also has a gps tracker so when you pick up your child, the CM can locate your child quickly. also, when your child is ready to be picked up, a CM will call you on your wave phone so parents, keep those wave phones handy!
emme scanning herself in later in the week!
after you enter the kids club, you must wash your hands in these high tech sinks. all you have to do is stick your hands inside inside of a covered sink which can be described as a "car wash" for your hands. your hands are washed for 20 seconds & then you dry them on paper towels.
I LOVED THIS CONCEPT! i am fanatical about clean hands.
emme washing her hands.
so back to our orientation....
the first thing i noticed was how clean the space was. also, all the CM's were very friendly, very interactive & genuinely happy to be with the children. there's so much to do inside of this place. it was HUGE! another bonus is that the children are served lunch and dinner while at the kids club. SCORE! we dropped emme off at the club before we headed to palo for brunch.
look who joined the kids.
MINNIE MOUSE!
during the orientation, only the oceaneer club was open. orientation is the only time you are allowed to take pictures of the space. i attempted to take a picture of emme a few days later and a CM immediately stopped me. i thought she was going to tackle me as she ran up so quickly to me!
andy's room was one of emme's favorite places to be. this was like all star movies resort shrunk for the kids. i loved it! it was a fantastic place.
...then we went to explore
i felt very at ease during the orientation & emme was having an absolute blast. there were times when she did not want to leave. another plus about the kids club that for diners who have second seating like us, at 9:15, the CM's will come to the dining rooms to pick up your children & take them back to the kids club so that you can enjoy your meal. how awesome is that?!
the oceaneer club & lab is for ages 3-11 (i think). there is SO MUCH to do to keep your kids busy. from playing dress up, computer games, video games, movies, arts & crafts, dancing & being silly.
everytime i dropped emme off or picked her up, i was greeted with a smile, no matter what time of the day this was. emme called the kids club her "new school" & she woke up every day wanting to see her "new teachers" & "new friends". she loved this place & still talks about her new school to me.
i dropped emme off & spent a few hours on the boat by myself. what an absolute treat! when i went to pick emme back up, they let me know where she was but i couldn't find her. i searched all areas & was in slight panic. i finally found her (in the area they said she was) but she was in a costume! *phew*
i can't say enough nice things about the kids club. thank you disney for providing such an awesome space for my kid & giving me peace of mind.
up next, how i spent my EMME-FREE TIME & NEMO'S REEF!
