Electric Water Pageant Parking

If we wanted to park at Poly solely to go to the beach to watch the Electric Water Pageant, would we have any trouble at the security gate?

I know that if you have an ADR, it's no problem. And I know that it used to be that you could just say "We're just exploring the resort" and that would generally work, but I would expect that maybe they are more strict at the MK area resorts?

We'd be staying at Pop Century the night we'd want to watch the EWP at Poly.

You could always park in the MK lot and just walk to the beach to watch since you have a parking pass for POP.

Huh. Since we always put the car down when we check in and don't look at it again until after we check out, I've never once considered parking in the MK lot, but you're right, it wouldn't be a bad walk at all from that lot to the beach.

Settled on this for Plan B! Thanks! :thumbsup2

I suppose that Plan C would be to bus over to MK and then monorail to Poly, though this would certainly take longer. Yay, transportation!

Still, anyone have thoughts on whether we'll be able to park at the Poly for our Plan A?

I don't think it should be an issue. My son was there for the weekend with his girlfriend and did the same thing without any problems.

There were signs up when we left our stay at the Poly that restricted parking. I would just plan on the other option, and not bother with their lot at all. The very short walk from the TTC is actually quite pleasant and you wouldn't be keeping a spot from a possible Poly guest either. :thumbsup2 (Finding a spot was HUGE issue when we were staying there, if you can't tell!) Have fun!

It would depend on when you are going. For busy times, like Spring Break I think you may have a problem parking at Poly. That lot easily fills up. We stayed at Poly in a January trip, which is low season and had a rental car for part of the trip, and found parking to be very difficult. Totally inadequate parking for Poly, with 2 of the busiest restaurants on property!

you should be okay - security guards will give you a 3 hours pass - or they will say no and make you turn around.

if they say yes - go to the right not left - that parking is closer to the beach - the other parking is closer to the lobby and restaurants

Had no idea that the lot was so small at poly. Good thing we won't be moving the car from the poly lot once we check in the following morning! We're going in September, so we'll probably head to the Poly lot and check out parking near Rapa Nui if security lets us. We'll leave extra time in case we need to back out to the MK lot for some reason. Thanks!
