For those who sailed out of Vancouver, is a 12:10 departure time completely unrealistic (we're fliying back to the US)?

Ship SHOULD arrive in port @ 8AM. If we keep our bags and get off ASAP, will we be good to get to the airport with enough time for customs, etc...?

Any suggestions on the best mode of travel to the airport?

Thanks

We had an 11:40 flight and got nervous and changed our flight. I didn't want to worry about it the whole cruise.

I've never taken a cruise from Vancouver but I've been down in the area when sent to Vancouver for work. I took the Canada Line train (make sure you get on the right train) from waterfront station with my luggage to YVR in less time (25 min less!) than when i took a cab from YVR into downtown.
Taxi will go on Granville which is the only street basically that taxis will take you to airport. Lots of traffic. Lots of lights. Unpredictable.

Since i don't have enough posts to insert a URL, you'll have to google thecanadaline.com

I haven't done my first cruise yet, but being a Vancouverite I would highly recommend the Canada Line unless you don't want to wheel your luggage around at all. The terminal is in the same complex as the Waterfront Canada Line station, which is the first station on the line so you'll have no trouble getting a seat on the train.

You can buy a transit ticket near the entrance to the station using cash, debit or credit card for $4 per adult ($2.75 on weekends or after 6:30pm).

Admittedly the signage is a bit confusing, even to locals, since the station was expanded to host two LRT lines. Just keep an eye out for the arrows to YVR Or other folks carting luggage.

There are two routes on the Canada Line: one goes to YVR and one goes to Brighouse. Really they're the same line except the YVR trains switch tracks at one of the later stations (Bridgeport), so if you get on the wrong one you can always hop off at that station (or any before it) and wait for the next train.

Our flight leaves Vancouver just after 1pm and before booking it I emailed DCL. They recommended 12pm or later, see below

After your cruise, once the ship is cleared by Customs, Guests may
debark the ship. Because the time can fluctuate, we recommend that you
make your flight arrangements to leave Vancouver International Airport
12:00pm or later. This allows for travel time, customs clearances, and
pier/airport security checks.
