Who else is glad they bought 20 or 15 years ago? Or even 10?

As I see these point prices skyrocketing, I'm SO GLAD we bought right away, right after our first trip to Vero Beach. We knew we'd be going to Disney for the duration, and we wanted to stay more upscale than we'd been doing. It was hard buying a "timeshare" and facing some criticism (or at least skepticism). Of course, everybody thinks we made a great decision now (and they'd also love to come with us, of course!)

We even financed, and I'm so glad we did!!! We had it paid off quickly, and we used the money that we were already spending going to WDW and applied it to the payments. We also put off buying a car and put the car money toward that. Because we paid at a fraction of the cost it's going for now, we got a great deal, have had 17 years of great vacations, and it's really been wonderful since we are no longer DINKS and have less disposable income.

We've treated friends and family multiple times, and it's our son's favorite place. Even DH, who likes it more than loves it, keeps asking me to look up availability for a spring trip, even after he said we weren't going this year.

Oh, and no restrictions on our points!

So glad we were "early adopters."

We bought 5.5 years ago, and I don't regret it for a second. We financed too but paid it off quickly. If we had to pay today's prices, we never would have even considered it.
Love the memories we have already made, and can't wait for the next 40 years.

We've only been in for six years and I can sure see the advantage for having purchased prior to that. From the moment I heard about DVC (when it was brand new) I really wanted to do it. Things like raising kids and putting them through college came first for us and buying DVC then just was possible. When that was done, we knew it was time and we bought our points. Of course we've added on twice already since our first purchase. Now we'll be taking our well educated kids and their families to WDW for a long time to come:earsboy:

I bought BWV in 1999 @ $65 a point. Very glad! I'm arriving at BLT tomorrow, I looked online and my lake view studio is $519 plus tax per night rack rate, I'm paying 21 points a night.

Bought OKW in 1993. Never regretted it.

Those first seven years of free park tickets sure didn't hurt any, either!

Bought VGC a couple of years ago after a move out West. We go to DLR a lot more frequently than WDW now since it's within driving distance.

I'm glad I bought prior to March 20, 2013.

I very much regret that we didn't buy BWV when we stayed there on our honeymoon back in 1997. We were young and didn't think we could afford it. I am happy though that we did finally buy 5 years ago. I can't believe how much the prices have gone up in just that little bit of time.

We are so sorry we didn't buy years ago. We thought we couldn't afford it but we were going every year (and sometimes twice) anyway. We most likely would have saved money in the long run.

:thumbsup2 to all the lucky people who did buy early.

15.5 years for us and my only regret is that it wasn't five years earlier! I see the prices people are paying today and am so glad we bought in at $62.50.

BIGGEST BIGGEST BIGGEST REGRET that we didn't buy in 1993. WE ALMOST DID....almostttttttttt and have regretted it ever since. We were moving to Japan in the summer of 94 and decided to not do it. UGHHHHH We are still kicking outselves over that one. We did buy in Jan. 07 but wish we had done it way back then. It wasn't even called OKW then.

20 wonderful years. In 1993 OKW was called Disney Vacation Club. We've never regretted it and we now take our DGS.

We've owned since '92 at "The Disney Vacation Club Resort" and have loved every second of it! Those first years of free park passes were the best!

Coming up on thirteen years and have never regretted it and always appreciated it! Looking forward to HHI in May and BLT/cruise in June!

Best decision we have ever made 10 years ago. 84.00/pt. at BCV. I still can't believe how lucky we are every single time we go. I still LOVE IT.

It will be 10 years this September that we began accumulating points:goodvibes. Very very happy with our purchases!

It's 16 years for us, and we too wish we had done it sooner. Now I'm just glad we didn't wait longer!:thumbsup2

My biggest regret is not buying 20 years ago while still a cast member! Oh what a deal that would have been! My parents tried to convince my husband and I that we should, but I was young and not thinking ahead. I know this is gonna sound bad, but after working for Disney for a few years, I wanted to travel elsewhere. Well fast forward to kids and life and all the inbetween and why didn't I listen to myy wise parents!
