weird bathroom question

Are the toilets in the childcare areas small enough that a very small infant could conceivably comfortably use them without falling in or off? Or do we need to bring a little pot into the park?

(Covering inevitable questions. 1. No, not trolling. 2. Yes, the 9 month old uses the potty 3. Yes, I know it's really weird.)

Wow! 9 months!!! That's amazing! I really haven't noticed any small kids potties in the park. I have a boy though, we weren't really looking. I would bring a fold up seat cover in a ziplock bag that you can put on seat each time. If the small potties are only in the child care centers it can be a long walk.

We also did mostly EC and even though we never went to WDW at that time, none of the so-called child size seats at her child care or in public were small enough that her bottom would not fall in. We carried the folding seat topper with us everywhere and she used it fine.

We went to church with some folks who adopted from China. I was so shocked when they came back with the 1 yr old adorable little girl who used the potty! I worked the nursery and when she had to go you just held her over the potty (she would face the wall) and whistle....and she would go! It was amazing!

I agree about using the fold up seat. I dont remember seeing any small kid sized potty, but maybe the baby care centers have small ones. Problem is you may be on the other side of the park when the baby has to go.

My DD was trained at 10 months, and she was really small. I just held her at the edge of the potty. I hated carrying around anything, so that worked for me. I know, the day care I used actually put her in the toddler room because she was the only baby that used the potty. I had the hardest time finding undies that fit her.

The baby care centers don't have child size toilets. Just smaller bathrooms (like 2 or 3 stalls).

Darn. I knew it was a long shot. LOL. Tiny potty it is.

We used to 'cue' her but now she holds it and goes on her own as long as we give her the opportunity frequently enough.

I really wouldn't use a potty that you carry around with you. Where will you empty it and wash it out, without braving "ew what are you doing?" looks.

I wanted to EC but exhaustion levels on my part nixed that, though we kept the principles, and DS worked out the potty pretty early for an American boy. Watching for his signals allowed us to enjoy pools without worrying (though he did wear swim dipes), got him sleeping longer through the night (when he got all wiggle-wormy that meant PEE!), and he ended up "training" at night long before daytime.

So anyway, I'm on your side, but I also have no interest in having a container of pee (not even baby pee) emptied into a public sink or washed out in a public sink, not being the person doing it or being the person near it.

And I would think it would actually add a layer of complication. When the baby starts the early signals, get to a bathroom. Seems a lot easier to me!

I can't believe she goes pee on the potty!!! Not only is she adorable but she's gifted!


I'm assuming you will be bringing a stroller, so the fold up potty seat could be just kept in the storage area.

I thought about bringing one for my dd last time we went, and she was 3

I would never empty a potty in a sink I carry a small pot, empty it in the stall, and wipe it out with baby wipes.

I am not into grossing people out. LOL.

I'm surprised WDW doesn't have small potties in the baby care centers. At DL they do. We did EC with my daughter and used those small potties in addition to a folding reducer that I carried in a zip lock. I did have to resort to stickers or toilet paper over the sensors on the auto flushers though. One of those went and we had a several month potty pause. Not fun.

She is seriously adorable. How long has she been sitting on the potty? My boys couldn't even sit unassisted until they were close to 7 months old let alone sit on a potty lol. I think my dad could of by 6 months though.

Seriously? Get over it She was 8 months old in this picture. I have absolutely zero interest in taking a comfort item away from an infant.

Shockingly, I have three older children who do not have pacifiers, because I know what I'm doing

I started holding her over the adult toilet when she was a few weeks old. And helping her sit on the little pot when she was....4-5 months, I think?

She can sit independently now but it hasn't been for that long.

Are you a stay at home parent? How are other family members with this training? How often does an infant go the bathroom, anyways? Seems like you'd have to be pretty much tied down to being at home, or dragging a plastic potty with you, etc. How much time do you have between bathroom trips? Or do you have the baby with you 24/7? Doesn't she pee in her sleep, when she was just a month or so old, anyways?

Obviously this works for you and your family, I'm just trying to picture what a day is like.
