My DVC day to myself

My DW had a girlfriend come visit her for the day. That gave me a day to myself. I awoke early and proceeded to the BLT lobby. I was given a voucher for a free taxi ride to the Palm Golf Course. I had breakfast at the Shades of Green Resort. I then had a relaxing morning of golf on a gorgeous course. I saw an alligator and a bald eagle. I made a birdie on a very tough PGA tour course. After golf I returned to BLT. I showered and hoped on the monorail to the Poly. I had a pepperoni flatbread at captain cooks. I enjoyed a dole whip for dessert while a strolled the grounds. I sat at the end of the pier and enjoyed the MK view. A boat pulled up so I hopped on. It was a shuttle to the MK. Onboard I enjoyed great views of the GFV construction and great views of my beloved BLT from the water. Once at MK I sat on a bench for a moment and did some people watching. Then I did something I always wanted to do. I walked the path that leads away from the MK towards GF. I enjoyed the walk, I was the only one around. Passerbys. On the above head monorail must have wondered who that nu was all alone in the middle of no where. I reached the end and rested on a bench at the very e d of the trail. I could look down a small canal and see the boats docked from the nightly water pageant parade. I had a drink and then headed back to BLT. I grabbed a mouse ear ice cream at the CR pool. I sat by the marina and felt my burned skin sting from a day in the Florida sun. If anyone tells you that you need to visit a park to have fun at WDW, tell them to come see me.

LOVE IT!!!

My brothers and I are doing a golf weekend in April. I took Thursday off and am flying in around noon. I plan on a late solo round at LBV, a nice meal and some people watching at DTD, followed by a beverage and cigar at Sosa's. Friday morning will be a stroll around the Poly with b-fast at Kona and a little pool time while I wait for them to arrive.

Can't wait!!!

Jim

Your day sounds like a lovely one!

I especially enjoy the boats to the MK. They've been around a long time. Lucky you to have seen a bald eagle.:goodvibes

I'm absolutely going share this with DH. He's not a big ride fan but still accompanies me and DS on our annual trips because we love it so much. ;)

I would love for him to do something like this and enjoy a day doing something he loves.

Thanks for sharing!! :thumbsup2

Very nice.
I worked today, but I'll spare everyone the details. ;)

Illini Al in OHIO?? Does not compute :rotfl2:

OP, sounds like a magical day. I love golf, but I am the worst golfer EVER so I graciously spare everyone that horrendous sight.

:thumbsup2
many of our favorite moments at WDW are the quiet ones: strolling, chatting/people watching on a bench, hours of just watching birds/wildlife, sipping a drink, laying by a (really:rolleyes:) quiet pool, ahhhhh

we often enjoy the BWV/DHS or EPCOT walks more than the parks themselves :goodvibes

someone had said it best on another thread:
"WDW is like our own country club"

That sounds like a great day OP. This is why we love WDW. When we tell people that it is not just about the theme parks, they look at us like we have two heads. But, being able to do so many different things and not being tied down to schedules is what it is all about. We have especially learned this since becoming DVC members. Thanks for sharing.

where did you get a drink here? or did you have one already?

that is a nice walk. so glad your alone time was spend enjoying yourself instead of feeling sorry for yourself.

wise man!

Nothing fancy. Just a water bottle out of my backpack.

Sounds like a great day.:goodvibes I would love one day all by myself. I love the resorts, so I could easily do a whole day touring them. My boys on the other hand... It's all about the rides.
