Lesley & Joseph DCL Wedding - Updated 5/8

I loved the ideas of doing magnets, but unfortunately, not everyone that is coming are a big fan of "disney"
... so instead of making personalized magnets, I ran across this thread that offered free images to make porthole magnets.
Here are three that I have finished (pay no attention to the finger prints on my fridge!)
These wrap around the "porthole" on the outside of your door that has the stateroom number on it. I plan on making a different one for each stateroom.
My DF is a firefighter, so that one is for us on the first day :)

Did you print these at home yourself? They look great!

Yes, I did. I bought the magnet sheets, they are pricey though. I was very impressed on how easy this was and great quality! But you could also do what Jillian did. She has a great tutorial on her PJ.

Since Disney charges so much for flowers, that you cannot even take off board, I decided that I would make my own.

My Mom and I went to Hobby Lobby, flowers were 50% off this past week. Here are a few that we have picked out ...

These (Calla Lily) are for my daughter's bouquet ... actually, her's will be the hot pink ones, I realize now this picture is an orange one that I took ...

A Yellow Rose for my DF's dad ... My DF lost his mother a few years ago, and his dad always gave her yellow roses.

This is going to be incorporated in with my mom and grandma's wrist corsage, as well as the color next to it, sorry I didn't take a picture.

We are still unsure of what my Dad is going to wear ... he's rather picky.

I decided to go with the Tropical Bouquet ...

We are still deciding on DF's boutonniere ...

One I made with magnetic paper and the other one I made with photo paper and laminated it. Can you tell which one?

I honestly like the magnetic paper quality better, but ... after hearing they get stolen, which makes me so mad, I decided I should go the route that were a little bit cheaper. Since I already had the equipment, nothing extra was spent there.

Glad to hear the magnets are easy to make! We are in the beginning stages if planning our DCL wedding and I really would like to do this!

Those magnets are fantastic! Love them! All your ideas are great and I can't wait to see how everything comes together!

Guest Book arrived ...
Bought this on Etsy from Gracefully Southern Designs. It took about 3 weeks to receive my order and there really was not much communication between me & the shop. I have no complaints though, it was pricey for something that I knew that I could do, but we loved the stand so much that I just bought it.

We were planning on mailing pre-arrival boxes, but yet again, have changed our minds, or maybe I should say I changed my mind! LOL! So instead, we sent out these pre-arrival passport booklets with a DVD. All information is again, from Disney Cruise Line website.

Since we are not providing shuttle from Orlando to Port Canaveral - we added directions to the terminal. All guest declined transportation, they are renting their own cars before hand and after - one less thing we have to worry about, I guess!

Also, at the time of sending these out, I knew the location and time were 90% confirmed but dining rotation is still unknown.

I made this "Life Preserver" for a photo prop. It's made from a styrofoam wreath with yarn and rope. It was simple to make. The yarn and wreath I bought at Hobby Lobby and the rope was bought at Lowes.

Each bag will have an "emergency kit" ... I ended up putting them in a clear bag, without any kind of topper or note inside.

And "EARS" for their doors ... the majority are different, there are a few characters that were repeated that I didn't add to this picture.

How each of them were packaged inside the bag with a note of directions and also who their character is.

We gave everyone two postcards and a highlighter. Part of the message wording was from someone on the fish extender board, I apologize I can't remember who exactly ... I also saw it on Pinterest. The image I got on the internet from google under clip art.

The majority of our guests have children. Depending on the ages, they either got a grab and go pack or a cross word/word search book with a Mickey or Minnie lollipop. I didn't go too overboard as there is so much to do on the cruise and it's only a 3-day.

We are also planning to add some type of treat to each bag. We are visiting Disney before the cruise, so we plan on grabbing them while we are there and adding them to each bag.

Newsletters

This is a continuation of my first post to my newsletters, found here. Someone had asked for an enlarged Newsletter to send along with either their invitation or a Save the Date. I did not do Save the Dates. These were added into our boxes along with the Message in a Bottle Invitation.

This was made on my mac, I do not have a template to provide, but here is an enlarged picture to look at wording. I hope this helps. Most of the information was taken directly from the disney cruise line website almost one year ago. For example of things changing, I had found that Main dining was at 5:30 and on our cruise it's at 5pm. Things like this might be different for your cruise and/or possibly changing.

Welcome Bag Tags

For the welcome bags ... I am still undecided if we are going to deliver them or have them delivered by Disney. Either way, each bag is different with items inside, so we still need to know what bag goes where ...

I bought these wood rings at Lowe's. They are found in the same aisle with the curtains. I removed the gold hook and clip. It was easy, it just twisted right off.

6A3AD703-A0B0-4985-A71A-D92F87ED3C19-124-000000018F196947_zpse4c9adc9.jpg

I then wrapped 4 sections in twine. Let me tell you, I didn't think this was going to be that hard. I decided to leave the rope off only because the rope I had was way too big and I did not like it wrapped in yarn, etc. I thought about painting them, but ruled that out also. I don't think they are perfect, but they are good enough for what we are using them for.

This is how they will be attached to the bag. I did white out partial of the name and some of the stateroom for privacy, since we haven't gone on the cruise yet.

Just caught up on your PJ. All your DIY projects and ideas are so cute. Dipping the corks in coconut scent - that is so amazingly clever! And all your ideas are so complementary! I love the welcome bag tags, another very clever idea. I was thinking about trying to make some porthole magnets/cruise decorations for our next cruise-but seriously, people steal them? On a Disney cruise? That's so depressing. Nevertheless it's nice to see you can't really tell the difference between the magnet paper ones and the laminated ones.

Anyway, really enjoying the PJ. Looking forward to reading more!
