Dollar car rental

We have always used Alamo, but the rates are just too high. So I booked a mid-size through Dollar Rental. Does anyone have any experience with them?

My husband just used them for the first time two weeks ago and we too are Alamo fans. He had no complaints. He even called to add an extra day and they gave him the same daily rate he was already paying which was $9.00 a day! He would use them again. and he got to pick his car just like with Alamo.

Are there any good discount codes out there?

MouseSavers is a good place for all rental discount codes.

We have used Dollar in the past several time and have had no problems. We would use them again without question.

I have used Dollar multiple times. I suggest joining their free express club...can't remember what it is called. Youw ill get an ID and then you can go directly to the garage and bypass the lines at the airport counter. Right now their best deal is the city special...just type in your dates and you will see that to select as an option...it will give you the lowest price right now.

I have been looking for a couple of months now and their prices recently lowered by about $150 for my dates. You can always cancel and rebook if you find a cheaper rate as well.

I've used Dollar several times in Orlando and other places with no issues. Usually got the best price from them.

you can use the code 'Kisse' its available for anyone to use. Its been around for years and saves about 10%

First I would try booking without the above mention code and when the rates populate look for the "city special rate" its in a yellow line under the "lock low and go". Click on the yellow line and see what specials they have. Be sure to scroll through all the city specials as they some times have other lower rates at the bottom of the page!

Question: I have only used Alamo at MCO before & loved the kiosk. Rates are much better with Dollar for May. Does Dollar have kiosks or do you have to go to a counter? Do you pick your car out in the garage? Is there an exit booth in garage? Any help would be appreciated!!! Thanks

We used Dollar once and probably won't again unless their price is super cheap. They had an awesome price on a minivan, so of course I booked with them. It was our first trip to FL and the fast talking counterperson told us we HAD to get their insurance. So our $450 van became a $800 van and later I found out that I didn't really HAVE to get their insurance ours was just fine. Yes I know there are advantages to taking their insurance but it wasn't really required like she made it out to be. For that very reason we always rent with Alamo because we can either check in on line or at a kiosk. Alamo has got good coupons all the time and they are always changing so I check all the time and book and re-book to get a better price if necessary.

We've used Dollar multiple times over the last 20 years and have never had a problem with them. We also use Alamo & National...just depends on who has the best rate.

The thing to remember with Dollar, is that often, 2 (or so weeks out) you can get a great price without any codes.

I have a reservation right now for April 28 - May 2 for an intermediate car that started at $157.96 (total - all fees included), changed it to $126.52 a week ago, then today (on a whim because I usually don't check weekends) I was able to lower the total to $102.34 (all fees included)

What I don't like about Dollar is that you can't add an extra driver without paying for it. Other than that, we've had great deals renting from them.

We just finished renting with Dollar. Eeverything was great. We have been faithful Alamo renters, but their prices have been so expensive.

I have booked with Dollar many times and they usually have the best rate at MCO. It's always a tossup between Alamo and Dollar for me. Right now Dollar is winning the bidding war. I just booked a minivan for June trip with them. Of course I know I will book and cancel several more reservations as rates get better nearer to trip time. ;)

Anyway, definitely sign up for Dollars Express club. Then book your reservation using your Express number. Then you can bypass the airport counter and go straight to the kiosk in the parking garage. They will have your car assignment up on a board. You can go right to your car. Also, if you don't like the assigned car, they are usually more than happy to let you pick a different car. I just did it in January and it went very smoothly.

Since it sounds like if I've reserved online with Express, I can go straight to garage kiosk(?) & get my car. Can I pick it or it is picked for me?
If I wanted to add my spouse as a 2nd driver, would I be able to then do that upon editing the garage? Thanks!!!

Dollar charges $11 a day for an extra driver

Just curious about recent experiences with Dollar Express. We are picking up a car tomorrow. Do I still bypass the counter? Or do I have some paperwork to fill out first?
