Questions on Resort Discounts

Hi everyone!! This is my first post and hopefully will also be the first of many trips to WDW.

My question on the room discounts is if you can apply more than one discount? Like if a 20-30% off public only room rate is available can you also add on a 35-40% AP room rate discount? I know you can't use a military discount AND the AP together, I just don't know about any others that become available.

We are hoping to go the first week in Jan. 2014. And stay at the Polynesian.

Does anyone wait until the packages are out in the summer to book their rooms? And, seriously last question, any advice on getting the best military rates/discounts without staying at the SOG. We might stay there but would really like a resort for the Disney atmosphere.

Thanks everyone!

I am going to move this to our Discount Codes and Rates Forum.

You cannot stack discounts.

The military discount is typically higher than the AP discount. The military discount has historically been 40% off of deluxes, 35% off of moderates and 30% off of value resorts. The current military promotion only goes through 9/30/13 and no one knows if it will be renewed for next year...it really is a year to year thing.

I think it makes sense to wait until next years rates come out before booking. That way you'll have a better sense of what you are paying. Before the rates come out, you can only book a room only (vs. package) and they will charge you the highest rate of the current year, until adjustments are made for the new rates.

Hope that helps and happy planning!! :goodvibes

Thanks so much. I had no idea there was so much to planning a trip! I'm really glad I like to research everything. Lol
