BLT 2BR or BC-CL (2 rooms)?

I am traveling with my DH, DS3, DS8, MIL and FIL the second week in December. We are trying to decide between 2 rooms at BC (CL-GV) and a 2BR-LV(dedicated) villa for the second week in December. We would be booking BC with a CM discount or renting points from a DISboards member for BLT.

Any advice of which way to go? We were going to splurge this trip for BC, and it will end up costing around $500 more for that option, and at 1/3 less space...which is why I am second guessing the initial call.

I'm guessing DS3 will enjoy MK the most, and DS8 enjoyed SOTMK (at MK) during our Jan trip, so guessing he will want to spend time there as well. We will have a car as well (planning on driving down). We have stayed BLT before and loved the space and room decor. I am just not thinking it will feel very Christmassy vs. Beach Club. Also looking forward to SAB, but in December, I realize that swimming may not happen. Never stayed CL nor at an Epcot resort.

Help!!!

BC CL is my least favorite CL (stayed GF RPC, GF SL, BWI, AKL, YC and BC). I also own DVC. I'd take a 2 bedroom at any resort over BC CL. You can have your own continental breakfast and snacks, getting what you want, plus you get the space and privacy a 2 bedroom affords.

I woukd choose BLT but honestly, if you are planning on renting points I think it is unlikely you will be successful for the second week of December. The first two weeks of December are the busiest time for DVC and the vast majority of members book right at their 11 month opening window. If you want to plan this time period I suggest you do so sooner rather than later. Good luck. I hope it works out for your family and happy planning.

Edited: I saw you started a thread about BLT so it looks like you may have found a 2 bedroom. I would book it for certain before it goes but the answer to your question is if you have to move, bell services can store your food in a cold section for you. Also, I think it is likely you would get your wait list for staying in the same room.

blt ask for a north side villa - even number room - and you may get a lake and MK (slight to the left) view

would go with BLT just to be able to walk to the MK. you can ride the monorail to Epcot.

MK has a ton of Christmas - and you can't get any close to it than BLT.

Thanks for the room suggestion! Sounds like BC will have to wait for another trip. I really wanted to check out SAB! It is hard to go back to regular rooms after staying DVC.

especially when traveling with inlaws....

maybe you will get luck and they may buy DVC - just try to get them to go resale

You just can't beat having the living room space to decompress in after the kids go to sleep! I'd give my in-laws the master and keep both kids with me and husband in the 2 queens room. Definitely request even numbered room as mentioned before. These units are substantially larger than the units inside the crescent!

We stayed in BLT 2BR last October and adored it! Pricey, absolutely (it was a 10th anniversary celebration) but we had a beautiful view of MK and saw the fireworks from our balcony. The room itself was the best we've stayed in (we've always stayed in suites and AK:KL we stayed in a 2BR suite - it was nice, but I prefer BLT).
