In - room baby sitting?

Anyone ever use the in-room baby sitting? We are planning a trip for November and I'd like a night out with DH. We have a 4 year old and a 7 month old (he'll be 16 months at time of the trip). I'm debating having DD (4) go to one of the clubhouses (like Simba's) and in-room baby sitting for DS or just doing in-room baby sitting for both.

Thanks.

I do not have any experience with this, but have to say that I am also interested! My DD is 5 years old and me and DH would absolutely love this! If I hear anything, I will report back. Otherwise, I will be checking in to see if others have been able to take advantage of the In-Room Babysitting!

One of my colleagues used it for tneir kids with high praise. They had a 2 and a 4 yo at time, and person who came was a young spry granny with bags of toys and quiet toys/games/stories -all had fun.

How much is in room baby sitting, and do they allow more than 1 child? I'm interested, but I'm a little nervous about my kids being in a room alone with a stranger....

Does anyone know how they screen these individuals?

Thanks!

In room babysitting uses an offsite agency called Kids Night Out. They've been using them since my kids were little, and that was almost 30 years ago. I know that they are closely vetted and I have never seen a complaint.

I know that our kids always had fun with their sitters. I believe that there is a limit on the number of children per sitter- I think it's 4.

I copied this from the Services and Amenities page of the official site's AKL page:
•Together with independent childcare provider Kids Nite Out, Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge also offers you the convenience of one-to-one in-room babysitting, allowing you the flexibiity to enjoy your vacation your way. You can even reserve a childcare specialist to accompany you and your family during your visit to the Parks, providing a helping hand where needed.
•To make a reservation for Simba's Cubhouse or in-room babysitting, please contact Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge front desk or Concierge during your visit
.

This was just taken from this resort as an example. You can get in room sitting at any resort.

I too wondered about this! So if I am staying at POR I can send my kids to the Simba thing over at AKL? I just need to set up the ressie and pay? I might do that!!!

I've heard only good things about the service they use. For me, personally, I couldn't leave my kids with a complete stranger and have a stress-free night out, but we know people who have done it and they said the babysitter was great! They are very carefully screened.

Has anyone used them as a mother's helper? My 7 year old loves to visit all the princesses, fairies, and do all the uber girly things. She'd do that all day long. She doesn't really care for DHS, but my boys adore it. I think Kids Night Out does offer a service where the caregiver would take your child to the park instead of just stay in the room. I think you have to provide a park ticket, but we have an extra one we could use for a day. Any thoughts on this? Would you do it?

I've used Kid's Nite Out twice and also saw one of their sitters in action at the QS at Poly a few years back with 4 small children in tow. Our sitter and the sitter I saw at Poly were utmost professionals. They take their jobs very seriously, are highly trained and vetted. They would not be the official babysitting co. of WDW if they operated otherwise. We used Kids Nite Out when my son was 2 and he was fast asleep when she arrived, so he never actually saw her. She arrived with tons of activities for him to do (if he had been awake), lots of paperwork for us to fill out (contact numbers, allergies, what was his routine if he woke up, etc.), etc. I was a nervous-nelly mommy when my son was younger and didn't let anyone watch him. I was thoroughly impressed with our sitter. The sitter I saw at the Poly QS was helping 4 young children with their dinner while their parents were out for the evening. She was incredibly attentive, fun and at one point, one of the little ones tried to run away from the table. She managed the situation so well and kept those children safe and sound. It was like watching Super Nanny. We witnessed this when my son was 1 - just watching her in action made me feel very comfortable hiring Kids Nite Out the following year. Big thumbs up for Kids Nite Out. I wouldn't hesitate to hire them.
