Split stay questions

We are 2 families of 5 heading to Disney January 2014. We plan on staying for 12 nights with 10 day park passes. We are looking at booking 3 connecting rooms at POP but am wondering about doing a split stay between POP and POR. How does this work? Do we just pay the difference in room price or do we have to book a 6 day ticket for Pop and a 4 day ticket for POR? Anything else I'm missing?

For a split stay, you would book 2 reservations, one for Pop and the other for POR. The best way to do it is to book the first resort as a package (room + tickets) and the second resort as room only. Park tickets are good for 14 days from first use, so the 10 day hoppers would still be good with your 2nd resort stay. However, if you want the DDP for both stays, you would have to buy tickets with each resort. You could get the 10 day hoppers with the first resort and then book a 1 day base ticket for everyone at the second resort to get the DDP. That adds cost to the trip, but that 1 day ticket can be saved for a future trip. HTH .

It may or may not be a minor point, but just be aware that you cannot have 3 connecting rooms at any resort. You could, however, get 2 connecting rooms (with an interior connecting door) and 1 adjoining room (beside your room but without the interior door). Also be aware that adjoining and connecting rooms are never guaranteed, although the resort will do their best to grant your request.

Thank you both! I was not aware of 3 connecting rooms not being possible. I think we have decided on solely POR, to keep us all in the same room. And hopefully we'll get free regular dining as opposed to value's quick service.

Have a great trip. We've never stayed at POR, but it looks like a beautiful resort .
