Her update was a first for the Live Thread from the...

"Here are the two boat captains (both named Patch ) welcoming us to the party.
Our captain Patch is on the left..."

"In the party room, there were tables of snacks including cake,..."

"...popcorn, pretzels, cotton candy..."

...fruit and ice cream."

"There was also a drink table with lemonade, iced tea, apple juice, hot cocoa, and coffee.
We were encouraged to take snacks with us when we boarded our boats."






"Captain Hook and Mr. Smee came out for photos and autographs. Here is my youngest DS with them."

"Once we boarded the boats, our captain entertained us with pirate songs and trivia. We got an up close view of the the Electric Water Parade."

"But this view was the best!"

"We all enjoyed the cruise, but this guy the most.
Here he is with his pirate sword given for answering a trivia question correctly."

"Also there was a special surprise character waiting for us at the dock when the boat returned.
I won't ruin it and post a pic, but he was a big hit!"





"This was so much fun for all ages. The captains were entertaining and not just in a little kid kind of way.
My teenager laughed his head off! We met at the Contemporary Resort and left from their marina."

I just went over to the Trip Reports board, and I can't see any pictures over there either. I have no clue what is going on. I'm at work though. When I get home tonight I'll see if I have any luck on my laptop.

Sometimes at work I can't see the pictures either. It depends on how they are posted. Luckily I don't have that problem on this thread!

Let's start out the evening with a breakfast update from DaisyluvzGoofy.


She said, "We started Monday at Crystal Palace with a before the park opened ADR."

"Both Nicholas and I knew Crystal Palace was basic. Our favorite things were the "make your own omelet bar" where we discovered late that it also served as a make your own pancake bar. As always our buffet favorite was the Puffed French Toast. The fruit was fresh and sweet, especially the pineapple. I liked the potato casserole over the breakfast pancakes but DH preferred the opposite."

"Our waitress brought us the cupcake and signed photo. Super cute!"

"We stayed a bit too long in the restaurant, and missed out on the perk of being in MK before anyone else. But yesterday ended up being a weird day anyways. You'll see that in our ADR's but we still had fun!!!"​

She said, "Last night we had dinner at...

"DSis and I both had nachos. Hers with all the toppings while mine only had cheese., beef, and sour cream. I dislike beans and they are already mixed in the meat but I could easily avoid them."

"DD had the chicken tenders with chips. It also came with grapes but I didn't take a pic."

Next was Diane's (pinkxray) breakfast update from this morning at...

Diane said, "I was able to grab an 8:00 a.m. ADR yesterday afternoon. I was trying to avoid character meals but DD looked bummed out when I reminded her yesterday."

"Everything was good. Food and service were all fine. We went here back in 2011 and I loved it. I didn't have the same feeling this time. I think I am just done with character meals for a few years. I think it was $20.99 or close to it last trip and today it was $30.99 which wasn't worth it to me."

"She said, "This afternoon we headed to the Grand Floridian to eat at..."

"I knew DH would never set foot in here so it was perfect for our girls trip."

"DD had the Mrs. Potts Tea which included tuna, ham and cheese, and pbj sandwiches. She chose hot cocoa as her beverage."

"She got to select two pastries. She selected the chocolate eclair that had chocolate inside which I wasn't expecting. The swan had lemon creme this day. She didn't like either but I didn't expect her too. She thinks they need to offer a kids choice like a cookie."

"DSis and I both ordered off the a la carte menu. I chose the scone and Devonshire cream and jam tart."

"DSis chose the trifle (she also got Caitlin's ham and cheese since she doesn't eat ham with cheese together.)"

"I also got a few pastries. There were three choices after the two that DD had so I decided to get those in order to try them all."

"Chocolate strawberry, carrot cake, and some type of cake."

"I enjoyed the food. My favorite was the scone with cream, Yum!"

She and her family were at DHS today and had lunch from two different QS locations.

The first was...


Backlot Express

Adult Chicken Breast Nuggets served with French fries

Kids Chicken Nuggets & fries (minus one nugget and a few fries


"Notice the difference in the nuggets between the two? Adults get "real" chicken, but kids get the pressed party type nuggets. Our boys shared both meals and no one seemed to notice."





"DH and I got our lunch from..."

First some display case pics...

"We split this ham sandwich, chips, and chocolate peanut butter cupcake. The sandwich tasted very fresh and had a dijon type mustard that I liked. The cupcake was yummy. The peanut butter filling was pretty dense and thick but tasted great! We had a light lunch because we had a 5 p.m. dinner at Kouzzina."

Barb I was excited to see the GF Tea update!! It reminds me of your mother/daughter trip that you had a while back. Unfortunately, we didn't squeeze this in this trip but the review made me really regret not trying harder.

Now for the exciting part... YOU AND YOUR FAMILY WILL BE AT WDW IN MARCH!!! (I know, old news by now but I'm just now getting caught up!) I will definitely look forward to seeing your updates. Darn for my timing being off this time.

I had two thoughts when I received the Garden View Tea update from Diane. The first was, "YIKES! I completely forgot to make an ADR for that!" Hopefully I can rectify my mistake today. Tried to do it online but nothing is coming up so I'm thinking that it is again an ADR that you have to make by phone. If there is nothing available that week, my DD is going to be very upset with me for falling asleep at the Disney Dining planning wheel.

Anyway, my second thought was, "Hmm...I wonder if Brenda and Emily will be doing tea for two?" Sorry to hear that you're not going to be able to fit it in this time, as it really is a wonderful Mother/Daughter tradition. But Emily's dining schedule looks pretty full for this trip (and outstanding, I might add ), so hopefully next time.


Sorry we are going to miss you by about three weeks this time. But I'm still hoping for a short trip in December for a DISmeet???
