I just saw that someone mentioned this on the "favorite snack" thread...

Magic Bars at Port Orleans Riverside food court

I'm intrigued! What is it???

Webcam of our rather lovely room view is up. It's on channel 2 at **********.com. A boat just went past.

[Edit: Darn, gotta love website politics haven't you? I'll put the actual direct feed of my own video stream on portorleans.org later so you can see it, but for now just Google "Eyes Ears webcam"]

Andre

Following the thread for quite a while. Andre and Vemon have been terrific! Looking forward to our trip in May.

Andre, hope that you have a wonderful visit!!!

It's my favourite treat in all of Walt Disney World:cool1:

Here's a link to someone who has pictures on their recipe site. They are very rich and decadent but delicious and I plan on abandoning my diet to have one next week::yes::

Although I have not had these ones, I make my version at Christmas every year. They are delicious!

Oh my gosh!! My Grandma makes these every Christmas! I'm so excited to try them now :goodvibes Thank you!! :wave2:

I have to say, I knew were were going, but now that I've booked...I'm super excited!!! :rotfl:

Best part? The kids have NO IDEA yet!!! I'm going to keep it a surprise until at least Easter!! Then they will only have a little over a month to wait.

Now I just have to keep my lips zipped and my mind thinking about how I'm going to Surprise them!!

Depending on how old they are you could put clues in plastic eggs and add to the fun of an Easter Egg hunt with the final prize something telling them they are going. For Christmas this year my daughter 10 & nephew 12 got matching presents and opened them together via Skype with a Disney gift card and a note telling them we were returning to POR again this summer. They are now helping with the planing of the trip.

Got it! Thanks for sharing others were looking for it also!

Sorry you couldn't find the website I stream via - a longstanding dispute with TPTB at the DIS years ago ended with it being blocked. As I said, it's all site owner politics, best not to get into it here.

Anyway, the live stream is available via portorlens.org now, so no more issues. I just didn't have time to add the extra code onto the site last night before we left for our meal.

We have a reservation on Feb 22 for 10 days for a River view Royal Room. Many are requesting Oak manor but I was thinking requesting the North section of Parterre (River view) Am I right that I will be close to the bridge and close to the quiet pool ? Should i request first floor or second floor. I have no strollers and we will be up super early.

Thanks for your help. It's our first time at disney for our family of four with 2 girls, ages 7 and 9.:woohoo::Pinkbounc

Looking at the map and trying to figure......Is the center section of Acadian House pretty close to the walkway and river or is it set way back?

The Center Section of Acadian House is about 35' back from the river or so. The closest bridge takes you around Ol Man Island and the Main Pool; which is a really nice walk.

Acadian House is my favorite building, since they made Oak Manor into RR's.

Thank you so much for the info Missytara! Very helpful!

I'm trying to get more info about the room safes. Portorleans.org says:

•Small wall-mounted key-lock safe (useful for money, credit cards, documents, keys, phone, iPod, etc — but not big enough for laptops or larger cameras)

However, I thought I read somewhere that they recently changed them to keypad safes when they renovated? In other WDW resorts, the keypad safes I've seen are the ones that are more like a drawer, not a space in the wall. Which is the case at POR? I'm trying to figure out if we can take the laptop :) Thanks!!
