Good morning! I've been reading the DIS boards for the last couple of weeks to get oriented before I post anything. I particularly enjoyed (and took note of) the "pet peeves" thread on the Resort discussion, so I hope I don't do too many of those things. Anyway, to introduce myself...

My wife and I have three kids -- DD(7), DS(5) and DD(2). We've booked a trip June 7-14 and are staying at CR. This will be our fifth trip to WDW, so while we're not experts like many of the folks here, we do know much of the basics. Our approach to touring is to charge hard in the mornings from park opening, take a long break in the afternoon and do casual touring in the evening but with a loose plan (an approach that comes from experience and hard lessons). This will also be the first time we've booked ADRs for each and every day (two on a couple of days), so we're excited about that.

I am a planner by profession, so planning a trip is part of the fun for me. We get the UOG, subscribe to TP and have Lines on our phones. Like others, I am anxious (in a positive way) to see how the new system (magic bands, FP+, etc...) works out, although it sounds from reading like it won't be rolled out by the time we go. We're excited to see the New Fantasyland, but not overly so thanks to the reports of others. We're just looking forward to a fun trip and hope to learn a little more from others before we go.

Sincerely,
CD

Hi and welcome!

Like the previous poster, I've only had one experience at the CR--- and that was right after high school graduation. Let's just say that Jerry Ford was in the White House and leave it at that. But I loved the resort. And the access to the Magic Kingdom will be perfect for your kids!

Which ADRs do you have?

Which ADRs do you have?

6/8 -- Liberty Tree Tavern (dinner)
6/9 -- Coral Reef (lunch)
6/10 -- 50's Prime Time (lunch) and Ohana (dinner)
6/11 -- Crystal Palace (breakfast -- 8:15 woohoo!)
6/12 -- Chef Mickey's (breakfast) and Chefs de France (dinner)
6/13 -- Be Our Guest (dinner)

Hello and :welcome: to the DIS! Your ADRs look great - I see you snagged one for BOG - very coveted around here. ::yes::

I hope your trip is magical for you and your family! pixiedust:

Yes, I wouldn't say you are inexperienced at all to know enough to grab that one! My brother and SIL are going for Star Wars weekend in May and haven't made any ADRs yet and they've been to Disney a ton...I was in shock yesterday when she told me lol!

Thanks to all for the warm welcome. Sorry I didn't get back sooner, but we had a birthday party for my son today (his actual birthday is later in the month). I'm looking forward to learning more and sharing what I can to help others. The best lessons I've seen on the board so far come from the "CM Tips" thread -- relax and enjoy your vacation, and try to make someone else's day brighter. If you embrace that, everything else falls into place.
