Booked Pop but.................

Considering 2 others. We have only stayed on property twice, Pop (preferred room) and CSR (preferred room). Enjoyed both. Have a preferred pool view room at Pop booked for June and was looking for a mod in that same range. We have quick service dining booked as well as 5 day park tickets with both park hoppers and the waterpark and more option. I checked out CSR and with a standard room it would only be around $200 more. Checked out CBR and it was around $150 or so more......of course we loved those queen beds ar CSR, but thought of trying a diffferent place. POR is booked. Thoughts?

Personally I wouldn't stay at CSR or CBR unless I was going to book a preferred room because you could be really far from the main lobby and food court/restaurants. And especially CBR is really spread out.

But that's my preference. I won't stay on property unless it is in a preferred room. I want to be able to walk from my room to the food court in the mornings for breakfast. I don't want to have to drive around to the front of the place and find parking to go in and eat. I don't want to get in the car until after we have eaten and are ready to head to the parks.

If you stayed at CSR in a non-preferred room you could request Casita 4 or 5 and you would still be pretty close to the food court. Preferred buildings are Casitas 1, 2 and 3.

Do you spend a lot of time at the hotel? Are better themed pools with a slide and hot tub important to you? Or does your family spend most time at the parks? That's kind of what I would base my decision on. We have stayed at (and enjoyed!) all of those resorts. Just depends on your plans and the make up of your group. :)

:)Good points. We were in a Casita previously, don't recall which one but it was near the fitness center. I was hoping to be able to get a preferred room but they aren't available. CBR was an option for a different place. I have to admit Pop (which was just the kids and I last time) was really fun. They still talk about doing the hustle in the lobby each night. The loved the pool at CSR but only got to swim once as it was really cold that week. Did water parks when at Pop and that worked out great and they used the Pop pool just a couple of times. The more I think about it I think I will just keep our Pop room and hit the tandoori food at AoA a time or two :)

I like both CBR and CSR. I am also a fan of trying new places. I don't necessarily think you need a preferred room at a moderate, especially if you are driving a car there. Sometimes having a room right next to the parking lot is nice when you have a car.

I suggest you look at resort maps and pictures of CBR and see if its something you want to try. You already know you like Pop and CSR.

Good luck with you decision.

What month?

We were at CBR June 2011 & LOVED it!!! We're a family of 4 (myself, DH, DS 12 & DD 7 at the time.) The kids especially enjoyed the pool. It has a zero entry which was a nice spot to sit and watch the kids while they swam. We were in Martinique--we didn't pay for preferred but our bldg was the first one past the preferred locations. Short walk to the food court, main pool & just past the quiet pool. We rented boats twice and that was a fun memory. We didn't mind the double beds. We were at CSR June 2012 in Cabanas. Also a short walk to food & main pool and right next to the quiet pool. DH & I think we liked CSR just a smidge better than CBR (can't really put our finger on it though so it's really too close to call.) We're planning our 2013 summer trip. It will just be DD9 & I this time. Between where we've stayed already (ASMU, CBR & CSR) she chose CBR--mainly for the pool. However, I'd like to try someplace new. POR didn't appeal to me + it was $400 more I couldn't justify that. We can do CBR for $150 more, but right now I'm leaning towards POP. Showed the pics to DD & she picked it now over CBR. So, I understand your position! Have a great time with your family!

I would do moderates over values anyday. For that price I would do a mod and request a close building. Bigger rooms and the pools are better- and hottubs. We like the feel of mods better. Values are way to busy- all the time.

I would stay a Caribbean Beach resort, it is gorgeous and you will appreciate the larger rooms vs pop. Values are great for short stays but you are staying 8 nights, you are going to want the extra space and the relaxing atmosphere of Caribbean beach. You are splurging on park hoppers and QS dining, why not kick in a few extra bucks and stay somewhere else?

We've never stayed at a value and have only stayed at one mod (CBR) and we loved it!!! The resort was beautiful, the pool was fun (and has been redone since our stay), the food court was good, and the bus transportation was very quick and efficient. We loved CBR and had a great stay and wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

Decisions decisions :) We really liked those queen beds at CSR and still don't get why CBR doesn't have them like the other mods do. I like the pics of the food court at CBR but I don't know anything about how the food is. Dang I thought I had my decision made. ;)

We are booked for preferred CSR for June 9-13. Trying to cut costs and was thinking of POP preferred. Have never been to either and trying to get as much info as possible
I know POP does not have coffee pots and rooms are smaller. Are preferred rooms quieter or louder?

Pop and CSR are just soooo different in terms of theming. Have you been able to look at pictures of either? CSR is quieter and more laid back overall. Pop is more high energy, bright colors. I would start with looking at pictures of Pop to see if it's something you would be happy with. We also choose our resort based on what type of trip it will be. If we're planning mostly park time, Pop is perfect. If we're planning a lot of resort/pool/relaxation time, we go deluxe. Try allears for good pop pictures. :)

My vote is for CSR! We love it there. Yes it is a bog resort, but I have never had an issue getting a room centrally located to ElCentro or the pool. Request Cabana's and you will be fine!

I have stayed at CBR, and I just am not fond of the layout of the resort.
