We did not go to Epcot last time we travelled to Florida and now looking through the guide books i am not sure if it is worth visiting.I have a 15 year old son whose loves fast rides and a 9 yr old daughter, who to be honest, is the same!I would appreciate any thoughts/advice .

Depends what you like, Epcot is one of our favourites, can be very relaxing to walk round the world showcase, also has Test Track & Soarin amongst others which are very popular, we are going in April when the Flower & Garden Festival is on, oh and the illuminations are def worth seeing! :thumbsup2

Disney is not exactly known for their fast rides.
I guess AK has EE, HS has RnR and ToT, and MK has SM and BTM.

Epcot has Test Track, Mission Space (not fast, but an intense type of simulator), Sum of all Thrills (another type of simulator ride where you can design your ride with loops, inversions, etc...) I think your children might love these rides.

It also has Soarin, Spaceship Earth, Living with the Land..... Okay, I know, not fast but family favorites (can you tell I love Epcot!)

Epcot also has the best food choices in all of Disney!

If all they want to do is the fast rides, then I would say that Disney in general wouldn't be a place to go. I love thrill rides myself, but I also really appreciate the other rides, because they're so well designed. It's more about the experience than the trill really. All the parks has a couple of thrill/fast rides, but not many. And I wouldn't say Epcot is any different than the other Disney parks. Personally, I love Soarin, Test Track (haven't tried the new one yet) and Mission Space.

How did it go in the other parks last time you visited? Did they enjoy any of the stuff that wasn't "fast paced"? Do they enjoy the shows and the fireworks? Because the Epcot fireworks is really amazing and is something you don't want to miss out on. There's also tours you can do, like the Aqua tour, where you get to swim in the tank with the sharks, turtles etc.

I'll admit that Epcot isn't my favorite park, but I simply can't go to Florida without at least spending a day there.

Its well worth the visit as long as you plan your day, it's not only educational especially for a 9-year old but also has some great rides, Soaring, Test Track, Mission Space to name a few and a variety of good food from around the world.

Epcot imo is def worth visiting...its a lovely park to walk around and has some good rides. As pp said Disney isn't really about rollercoasters but pretty sure you would all really enjoy Mission Space, Test Track and Soarin. Each park is an experience and so different from the others. I have a friend that has been to WDW 3 times now and her family only went to Epcot the last time they were there because they said they never fancied it before. They absolutely loved it and wished they'd gone before. They thought it was just going tobe like going to a science centre and boring..:confused3

First time we went to Epcot in 1993 we did it right at the end of the holiday, we were tired and didn't enjoy it. Since then its turned into one of our favourite parks, we probably spend more time in there than any other.
If you have never been its definitely worth a day there.

Epcot is definitely worth it. Your kids will love Mission Space, Test Track, and Soarin. And who doesn't love riding Spaceship Earth. Walking through the world showcase is definitely something everyone should experience.

we probably spend more time in there than any other.

Yes us to...I think its just a great park to walk around and love the fact it has two entrances/exits. We often go in the late evening, go out the exit between UK and France have a walk around the Boardwalk and come back by boat and go for something to eat in one of the countries and watch the fireworks...bliss:)

We love Epcot!!!

Soarin', Test Track and Mission Space are among our favorite rides. (I also get a huge kick out of Spaceship Earth, I guess it's the teacher in me.) And in the middle of summer, when we go, The Living Seas is the most comfortable place on the planet.

We also adore the World Showcase.. so many wonderful dining choices, and so much fun!

And Illuminations is, far and away, my FAVORITE of all Disney's firework/ lasar displays. It's awe inspring. I remember sitting on the ground in 2009, watching it, and just thinking how incredibly lucky I was to be in that place at that time. I don't know exactly what it is about that show, but I would NOT miss it.

Go to Epcot. You'll be happy you did.

I went a good few years ago and didn't like it I gave it another go in January and still didn't like it. I guess you will never know unless you give it a try some people love the park some people dislike it.

Epcot is my favourite park as there's so much to see and do, there's something for everyone.
Some great rides, some really good shows to watch in World Showcase and Illuminations is purely magical!
Also some great places to eat with such a wide variety of options.
We always spend alot of time in this park especially if we are there through flower and garden or food and wine.

I love Epcot. The children not so much. So we do one early start there and cover everything in future world a couple of times and then go back about 4 evenings to eat and do a bit of World Showcase at a time. Works out well for us, especially when we can afford the Beach Club as there are so many good places to eat there.

I'm not a fan of Epcot myself. I'm more about the rides and don't really appreciate the more "educational" nature of Epcot as a theme park (doesn't work in my opinion). I went a couple of times, didn't like it much, so didn't bother to go back for a decade. Figured we'd give it another shot,10 years after our last visit, and felt exactly the same...

Many people rave about it, however. Admittedly Illuminations is great and the margaritas are good too!

Didn't see Epcot first time round but one of my favs, has Test Track and sorin, both great rides and of course Illuminations

I'm not as keen on epcot as the other Disney parks, but still like it.
Spaceship earth,soarin,Ellen,nemo to name but a few.:goodvibes

epcot has always been a big favorite with my kids - at every age...

both my son and daughter love mission space, test track and soarin...
and they adore the geeky stuff in innoventions east and west - especially the build your own roller coaster at the sum of all fears or whatever it's called...

and they also enjoy all the aquatic exhibits at nemo and friends (my son is a big scuba diver, so anything aquatic is good for him)...

they used to be less interested in the countries, but now that there is that interactive game (you use this hand held telephone-like device) they really enjoy it there as well...

we usually spend a minimum of 2 full days at epcot...

I really love epcot, DH likes it but not as much as me. We haven't been since 2007 so looking forward to seeing what has changed. Not sure if our kiddies will like it as much as me though.

I would like to bet a few people think the same about epcot, but when you actually get there you do realise how good it is, it has a different type of appeal than the other parks, but surely that was part of the grand plan. We love it and love the fact it is different.
