What's it like living in the apartments? Are they pretty? Is it easy to connect with others?

I'm someone who's very shy, so how would someone like me make friends and becone friends with my room mate? Can I request just 1 room mate? Can you have sick days in case you're sick like in work? What's it like your first week? What does the inside look like? Do you get cleaning service? About the security, do you have to have a certain pass to get in the park for free and the apartment complex? Care to share anything else about your experience?

Oh, I have a disease called Cystic Fibrosis would the lower my chances of getting in the culinary program? The thing that's bad about it that others may see is coughing (sounds like I'm sick when I'm not)? Would my roommate understand? Like some nights may consist of coughing really bad. Is there a certain time that the lights must be out by?

the apartment complexes are different depending on where you live. vista way ( the one I lived at) is the oldest complex. however it is the cheapest and you don't have to drive to you laundry. vista has two pools, a gym, volleyball and basketball courts. it's also transportation central. all apartments are pretty much the same just different up grades. there are two people per bedroom and kitchen and living room.

it is very easy to connect with other people, just remember that most students there are feeling exactly the way you are, nervous. easiest way to make friends is asking others what there role is, where they will be working, what's their major and etc

as far as your roommate goes, take advantage of the roommate matching tool and get to know your roommate before hand, it helps.

I don't know if there are sick days that's something to ask your interviewer or manager.

your first week can be a little crazy, you'll have training and classes to get you prepared for disney roles. my first week was all about getting to know my roommates and the parks a little better.

you have to clean your own apartments and they have inspections to see how well you are maintaining your apartment. they also have cleaning supplies you can rent.

as far as parking, you can park fir free at apartment complexes and they give you the paper work at check in. and you will get a housing id that will get you in to the apartment complexes and buses.

as far as your Fibrosis and culinary program you should talk to your interviewer. and just be up front with your roommates they will understand.

and there is no lights out curfew but I think they just want you to be mindful of other people.

I didn't personally do the roommate matching on my last program, so I don't know how that works. But I DO want to add something to your concerns about being really shy, because I was "borderline panic attack" when I first started (exact words from one of my training people) because I was so shy.

Doing the CP helped me really come out of my shell in a good way, and making friends is super, super easy while your down there (like mentioned). The first night there, all of my roommates hung out in the living room together and we got to know each other that way, and then we all went to the housing meeting and Traditions together as well. And you'll become friends with who you work with as well. (At least I did--I met one of my best friends on my program and she actually came to visit last summer.) So keep your head up about being shy. It's really easy to make friends down there.

Don't worry about curse words and such when you're not working. Obviously you don't want to do it on stage or anything, but if you're on the CP bus or in your apartments (and maybe backstage--my managers never had a problem with it so long as we weren't anywhere a Guest could hear us, like in the kitchen) you're fine with cursing. And you can bring your PS3, but you'll want to make sure you have a TV to go with it. My boyfriend had some sort of gaming system and it was used all the time.

I used the roommate matching tool, I don't know if it changed since 2010. but the computer randomly selected a roommate for me and gave me Sarah's information and we talked via fb. make sure when you go to check in you and the person you want in your bedroom check in together! funny story: Sarah and I checked in together, got to be in the same apartment, however when we got there I didn't clam the bed next to hers and when I got back to the apartment the bed was already taking, so I roomed with Denise instead and I loved every minute of it! and we are great friends to this day.

I know they do have one bed rooms available, however it's on a first come bases. most of them are for married couples. and it's more expensive.

This gives me so much relief! Like 1/4 of the reason I'm wanting to do this is to meet and make friends, hopefully by the time I can go to culinary school ill get accepted into the program. And ok good lol, I don't cuss to often, but I was wondering because it is Disney world after all and its full of kids and disney and such.

A little off topic but... Do they check your resume and would you have to mail them your résumé? Because I have a pretty descent resume and I'd hope that would increase my chances of getting into the program.

For the CP Disney does NOT check nor require your resume. Resumes transcripts and cover letters are only needed for when you apply to a PI or MI.
