Is Little Rock AR (LIT) airport really that small?

We are flying SWA in March and have a connecting flight on the outbound flight. We change planes in Little Rock. I wanted to get an idea of the lay out of the airport and found airport aerial maps that show one building. It looks quite small (comparing it to New Orleans and Dallas airports).

Is it really as small as it looks? :woohoo:

We have a 45 minute lay over which should be just enough. Especially considering we have a 9am flight. Not a lot of time for the flights to get behind barring no weather issues. So under normal circumstances I'm not expecting delays. I am hoping the gates will be very close. :cool1:

In 2011, DFW handled about 55 million passengers. New Orleans handled about 9 million passengers. Dallas Love Field handled about 8 million passengers. Little Rock handled about 2 million passengers. So yes, by comparison, it's a small airport (although it still makes the top 100 list for U.S. airports).

I flew to/from LR a couple years ago. While it probably is a "small" airport, I don't remember any issues because of it. It's not like the passengers need to get out and push the plane back from the gate. :lmao:

After I posted I thought of another way to google LIT. Googling the number of gates. According to the responses I received LIT has 12 gates. This makes me happy. Even if we come in gate 1 and are going out gate 12 they will be close :)

Thanks for the responses :)

I am from Little Rock. Our airport is one terminal and you can walk from one end to the other within 10 minutes. That includes stopping and picking up a snack, so yes, our airport is small!

BTW- I never, ever thought is would see a thread about the LR airport on DIS! I was really excited to answer something about my hometown!

I live in North Little Rock and agree with PP- LIT is relatively small, easy to navigate, and in all of my experiences, run well.
