Do kids have to show room keys?

Does each child have to show a room key to go into EE? I don't remember this being a big deal last time we went, but I'm sure my younger kids did not carry their room keys with them. How strictly is this enforced? Thanks!

I would guess they would want to see one for each person over the age of 3.

I'm guessing they don't give children under 3 a KTTW card.

1) KTTW is in WDW. And yes when we went to WDW our under 3 had a KTTW.

2) When we stayed at DLH a couple of years ago the kids didn't have their own room keys (KTTM-Keys to the Magic), but I'm not sure if that has changed since then.

They have to see the room key for all entering. We just got back and they are being pretty strict, of course my kids are teenagers so that probably makes a differance but if you hsve say 4 doing ee then they are going to want to see 4 keys. Hope this help and enjoy the rules have gotten strickter ie fp entry tickets and such crowds are a bit high however I just came back from a trip that was easily in my top 5 magical trips and I've been over 30 times. Just take it as it happens and the magic presents itself in the oddest of ways!!!

In December my kids were given room keys. The youngest is 10. They were being very strict and making everyone show keys. When we were in line waiting for them to start checking us through (about 630a.m.) there was a CM checking to see a room key for everyone in line. There was a family that the father had to run back to their room to get their kids' keys.

...also, looking back, my kids have always gotten room keys. DD10 was only 5 the first time we stayed at GCH and she got a key then.

Yes. You can just carry the keys for the younger kids. My son was under 3 when he first went and he got a key. He loves to show them off now, lol.

All registered guests get a key, even infants, so everyone staying is issued a key with their name on it.

Your 1 year old will be issued a key.

We had been planning on possibly taking a one year old with us into the parks a day or two. If it goes as planned, she won't be staying with us at the hotel. I hadn't thought about her not being able to get early entry. Eeek. I guess I can call and get her added to the hotel reservation? Seems kinda silly.

I can't speak for regular rates but, with our AP rates you don't pay extra for children. When you look in the AP room rates page of the AP website it is a per room rate for up to 5 people. I don't think they will let you have 6 registered guest in one standard room. I don't know about an infant though. You can get a crib brought to your room, so maybe they will issue a sixth key under the right circumstances.

You should be asking if anyone with 4 children has experienced this.

My thoughts exactly.

I think it's a big PIA to show room keys for every person in your party, especially if you have young children. Teenagers I can see, since they might be in the parks by themselves, but anyone that *should*be with adult supervision shouldn't need to show a room key when they are with the adult.

OT but, I was tossing the idea of hole punching all of our keys and AP's then putting them on a key ring. Anyone else ever do this ?

You will need to show keys for children 3 and older. Last trip, they wouldn't let a family through bag check at the hotel entrance without keys for everyone.
