Chef Mickey's and/or Mickey's Backyard BBQ?

We really want to go to Mickey's Backyard BBQ because it sounds fun and our kids would probably love the laid back atmosphere and the dancing. We were also going to book Chef Mickey's for breakfast one day. If they are the same characters, is it pointless to do both in the same trip?

We are there for 6 nights and we aren't staying at either of those resorts (we are staying at POR).

Yes, it is basically the same crew at both.

If it were me, I would look into a different breakfast (there are lots of those) and do the BBQ to meet Mickey and the gang.

Just to be forthcoming, though, I should probably add that I can't stand Chef Mickey's and actually enjoy the BBQ, myself.

The Ohana breakfast is great, and Mickey is there too but then so are Lilo and Stitch and Pluto. Crystal Palace has Pooh and the gang. 1900 Park Fare has a group of storybook folks like Pooh, Alice and the Hatter, and Mary Poppins - the characters over there are great but the restaurant itself (food/service) is not one of my favorites.

Totally agree. We have thoroughly enjoyed each of these breakfasts, and they woudl provide a little variety.

The BBQ is my DDs favorite. She loves it, but I would in no way call it "laid back". It is actually quite hectic. Our favorite breakfast is Ohana, followed by Crystal Palace. Chef Mickeys is a classic, though. That said, we are doing all four of those on our upcoming trip.

Chef Mickeys: Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Goofy, Donald
BBQ: Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Chip, Dale

The characters aren't all the same, Chip and Dale at the BBQ, and Donald and Pluto at CM's.

I think it depends it you are doing any other character dining on your trip, and which characters you really want to see. We usually do both each trip and my kids enjoy going to both.
