What is this?

Should I do it?

Why should I do it?

When can I do it?

This will be my first time, so I am new to all of this. Staying at ALL STAR Music. Thanks for any help in advance!:)

It's just as the name implies, you can check in for your resort reservation online before arrival. I think it opens something like 10 days ahead.

Lots of folks really like it, as it speeds up the check-in process somewhat, but I hate it.

I like to see what room is assigned, and ask for a change if I don't like the location - which, if you have checked in online, means getting in the check-in line anyway. I also like talking to the CMs and don't mind the process. To me the extra 10-20 minutes or so is worth it. Others see this as a waste of time.

I don't see any benefit to doing online check in more than a week in advance. I heard that they don't assign rooms until about five days out. We never did online check in.

I have always done on-line check-in and found no issues with it. When you arrive at the resort, there are two sets of check-in lines, for those who did on-line and those who did not.

I have found it very speedy. When the CMs hands you your packet, they will show you on a map where your room is in the resort. If you are not happy with that location, they can change it for you at that time. I have been lucky and very happy with where I have been placed.

It will be on how you want to really experience your check-in process. Some like it, some don't. ;)

And I think now, you can do it at the 60 day mark! I think that is part of the new website. I am at 63 days at this point for my next trip, so I will see soon! :thumbsup2

i do not do online check in at the deluxes as when you pull up they greet you and walk you right to the check in desk. I like to make sure my room requests were met or as close to it so I do not do online check in for that reason either.

We are staying at ASMu. From the sounds of it, online check-in asks you for your room preferences. Is this true... and if you used it and entered preferences, were they met?

The new system just started not too long ago, so there are no hard and fast facts that report the percentage of people who used online check-in, stated their room preferences and got what they wanted.

The only hard and fast fact we all know is that as long as requests are placed on your reservation, the room assigner at least gets a look at it.

If you are a first-timer, I would advise against the on-line check in. This service was designed to have someone come up in the on-line check in line, show an ID, get their packet of information and then leave the front desk area.

It's not designed for people who have a lot of questions or who want a specific room. On-line check in, just like at any hotel, is supposed to be quick and easy. Takes me less than a minute to do it but I don't have special requests, I don't need tickets, I have stayed at the resort before so have no questions.

OP - I wouldn't do the online check-in since it's your first trip.
